What it is: A cleansing oil that cleanses skin of daily buildup while reinforcing skin's protective lipid barrier.
Who it's for: Ideal for dry skin.
What it does: This gentle oil cleanser infuses the complexion with moisture, never drying or stripping skin of its natural oils. Skin is left softer and smoother, refreshed and hydrated. The formula for this hydrating cleansing oil utilizes Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, a versatile emollient and excellent substitute for old-fashioned mineral oil, a once-common skin cleanser. Taking the place of mineral oil, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene works alongside three Hydrophobic Esters (Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Tridecyl Stearate, and Tridecyl Trimellitate) to draw out dirt and debris from skin.
Key ingredients:
- 10 Seed Oil Blend: a beautiful, botanical blend of Safflower, Sunflower, Grape Seed, Hazelnut, Jojoba, Macadamia Nut, Kukui Nut, Sesame, Carrot Seed, and Chaulmoogra Oil. These hydrating cleansing oils have been chosen for their high essential fatty acid (EFA) content. Together, they help nourish and protect skin's natural moisture barrier, delivering vital EFA nutrients that are not naturally produced by the body. EFAs bring strengthening properties to the skin's protective lipid barrier, thereby locking in hydration.
- Vitamin E: antioxidant benefits help soothe skin affected by daily environmental stressors, such as sun exposure and pollutants. Vitamin E helps to boost skins moisture barrier, protecting the complexion from outside elements while also soothing and locking in moisture.
How to use: Gently massage the oil cleanser in small circular motions on dry skin. Use on its own to cleanse skin, or follow with the cleansing bar of your choice as part of your Double Cleanse Method (recommended). Rinse skin and pat dry. Use morning and night.

Core of 50+ years of EL Regimrn! MUST-DO! CRITICA
Dr Laszlo’s Cleanse Oil is the first step of an EL devotee (were devotees decades after starting use of EL BECAUSE THE PRODUCTS ARE EFFECTIVE!). Pump a couple of drops of the appropriate cleanse oil (this item or the “black-colored” detox) onto CLEAN FINGERS & apply to face, neck, & décolleté. Follow with the cleanse bar that’s appropriate for your skin’s needs, based on skin & environmental factors- o keep FULL SIZE of this item nearby atop bath counter. Also keep mini version of black-colored detox cleanse oil to use when necessary. My skin has always been “normal” oil-wise.
When I became a Lassiter in 1/1978, we were instructed to splash 30 times while rinsing bar soap from face. While no longer recommended, I still splash 30-times with clean tap water: after every 10 splashes that begin with comfortably warm tap water, after every 5 or 10 splashes, I reduce water temp to end on cold water. It’s a relaxing process- I’m not a scientist, but my skin feels “ready” for toner & subsequent steps before bedtime - prepares for sleep @ day’s end -OR- prepares skin for the day.
Suggest RESUMPTION OF Dermatologist Erno Laszlo’s original advice & recommendations. He had a reason for that rinsing procedure & I’ve never deviated from it Odin e 1/1978. (A recent EL Advisor said, “that’s not recommended anymore- I tried Advisor’s suggestion BUT my skin felt unprepared for subsequent products).
I’ve given this product & the VTM CREAM-2-Foam cleanser. Friends who are, frankly, too lazy to use the cleanse oil + bar soap, & instead opt for the simple VTM cream-2-foam cleanse wonder why their “results” don’t match mine..

Love Erno Laszlo skincare, but...
Delivery was quite a wait for me to receive the pHelityl Cleansing Oil. The item's box was open, dirty item inside, drips down the container. This product was used by someone else before it was sent to me. I don't know why your quality control didn't spot this before sending. I had to place an order through Laszlo New York and was unable to use my Nordstrom discount. Very disappointed in Nordstrom.

Use with care
I am 59 with dry/combination, sensitive skin. I've used the Phelityl soap happily for years, but over the winter my skin has been feeling drier than usual. The first few times I used this cleansing oil (morning and night) my skin looked moisturized and amazing, I thought I had found the perfect product for my aging skin. Unfortunately, a few days later I noticed my skin was drier than ever, and my under-eye wrinkles were much more noticeable. I think the double cleasing stripped every bit of moisture from my skin. I was careful not to over do it with the soap, and didn't use hot water. I think twice a day was just too much for me. I'm not giving up, because the initial results were amazing. I will see if the benefits of the oil return if I scale back to double cleasing once every day or two. I never imagined using such a thick oil could dry out my skin, but my research on dermatology sites shows this can absolutely happen, so use this product with care.

Excellent Skin Care.
