Best candle on the planet!
The scent of this candle is mesmerizing. I bought my first one years ago and now give them as gifts because I don't know anyone who does not like this scent. Truly amazing because you can't say that about many candles.

Love the name but...
the scent while burning is nearly undetectable. Sad. It smelled so nice in the store (unlit). Biblioteque and Tree House perform much better.

Ok...
I like it, but doesn’t have the same strength and throw as Burning Rose. I have to have the candle lit for close to an hour before I really start to detect the fragrance. It’s a great cozy scent, but it’s faint. I’ll enjoy it, but won’t repurchase.

Wanted to like this so much more
But I could barely smell it when it was lit.
Pros
- scent is lovely, intriguing.
- black wax looks cool
Cons
- You have to trim that wick a LOT to prevent uneven burn and tunneling. I had to trim my wick every two hours. The wick is so heavy that it tips to one side once burned and will reposition the flame as a result.
- Super smoky flame. Black soot flame.
- Weak throw. Easier to smell once the candle’s blown out.

too faint a throw
The fragrance is complex, unusual, interesting and lovely but the throw is very poor. The candle hardly gives off a scent which, unfortunately, is the case with many of the Byredo candles (Altar being an exception). I'm surprised by the glowing reviews here. Too much money for too little scent!
