Classic Fit Solid Wool Suit

Peter Millar is one of the few suits today that fit me well without a lot of surgery--these days it seems most suits are slim or trim fit, which are too tight for me at 5'8" 200 pounds. On my computer, the suit appears a lighter shade of gray, but when I got it, it was quite a bit darker, a true charcoal gray, which is what I really wanted anyway. A beautiful suit, well-fitting and well constructed, especially for the sale price. I highly recommend it.

We originally ordered this suit for my husband in the blue color which turned out to be not quite as depicted and too close to one of my husband's other suits, so we exchanged the blue for the charcoal color. The charcoal color is beautiful - it is not a true dark charcoal but more of a medium tone grey, very much like the color shown in the picture. The fabric is very nice and drapes beautifully. A very classy, elegant look. My husband normally wears a 42L (sometimes a 44L), but ended up purchasing this in a 46L. He could not button the 42L and felt that even the 44L was too tight across the shoulders. The pants will have to be taken in, and the jacket nipped in a bit at the waist, but these are pretty minor and expected alterations.

I purchased this suit for my husband for Father's Day. He is not into the latest trends but prefers the classic look. He was very pleased with my selection. After alterations, it fits him like a glove-- a classy, timeless glove. The suit is sleek and the color is spot on. Happy Husband. Happy Wife.

While the suit looks nice it is poorly made. The seams on back of the jacket failed while wearing it the first time. Imagine my surprise when my suit coat had a massive hole that was noticed just before standing to speak in front of several hundred people. The seam had a 4 inch separation and it continues to unravel. After more closely inspecting the other seams they also seem to be suspect. Not what I expected and certainly not what I paid for.

I'm short (5' 2") and stocky (44) so I'm already a tough body shape to fit. Ron at the Oak Brook, IL location didn't even flinch at the challenge and was able to expertly guide me towards Peter Millar. The seamstress also brought the final details together to make this a perfect piece just for me. Since then I've lost count on the number of compliments on both fit and color that I have received wearing this suit. I would be lying if I didn't also state that wearing Peter Millar makes feel like I'm 6' 2" :) I bought the navy version in the winter and came back to pick up this gray one just last week. These are excellent additions to my wardrobe and looking forward to feeling just a little bitter taller ;)
