Fresh and Different!
Disclaimer: Perseus will smell differently on different skin types, even at the dry down.
Review:
Opening is photorealistic grapefruit; an insane burst of freshness. The grapefruit has a sweet quality and smells totally juicy and edible. This lasts for about 1 hour at which point the vetiver takes over…
…and I mean it takes over! This is a vetiver bomb in the dry down. It does remain somewhat fresh but make no mistake this is a vetiver fragrance through and through; the fragrance fades away after about 4-5 hours which is a little disappointing for a wood heavy fragrance.
Sillage is huge; fills a room and leave a pretty dominant scent trail. Had multiple compliments in the first few wearings which made me smile; PDM could be onto a winner here.
What does it smell like. To my nose the opening shares similarities with TDH Eau Givree, but whereas TDH is more sour, Perseus has a sweetness. I love Eau Givree, but the added sweetness in the grapefruit is unreal and I’ve never smelled such a realistic grapefruit smell. The dry down reminds me of a combination of Creed Viking Cologne mixed with Roja Elysium PC; overall the smell is closer to Creed in its profile, but the type of vetiver reminds me of the the vetiver in Elysium; that is not to say I think it smells like Elysium, they are different fragrances overall but they share that dominating vetiver note in the dry down.
Overall I think this is a good release. For a house that already has Percival and Greenley (2 great freshies) and then Sedley which is average at best (but loved by some), Perseus adds to the PDM arsenal. Maybe in time this will be considered the best freshie from the house, but Percival is still a crowd pleaser and Greenley is incredible, I’ll need to wear it more to consider giving this the PDM freshie crown.

great opening but okay on dried down
I love the opening, very citrusy, fresh, definitely can be wear unisex; however no wow factor on dried down which I wouldn’t mind but the scent lasts 4 hrs on me which not worth the price giving. I ended up returning this and got Sedley instead which much better.

Spicy
Opening it smells like an orange that was put to dry out in the open. Then it dries down and gets more spicy. I expected this to be a more fresh fragrance. It lasts around 6 hours but is more for older men who wear suits to be honest. When it dries down fully it smells very elegant like. Overall too strong for me since I like vanilla sweet fragrances like althair or one million elixir. This is great for someone who works in the office and wears a suit and tie everyday. Warning: Very spicy and citrusy tho. Literally smells like an orange with alcohol.

Lovely but doesn't last!
The scent is fantastic - fresh and invigorating, but it just doesn't last. Not what you expect at this price point. :-(
