Twisted ankles
I'm coming from wearing Brooks Cascadia and think I will go back. These shoes are slim and I'm finding technical trails much harder as a result. A lot more ankle twists in these compared to wider bottom shoes I've worn previously like the Cascadia and Speedgoat.

My fave Peregrine’s yet
This is my 6th pair of Peregrine’s, and probably my favourite. I’ve had the 8, 10 x 2, 10 GTX, 13 GTX and now the 16s. Compared to the 13s, the 16s feel roomier with a wider toe box and mid foot. Less heel cushion that pushes you forward and shortens the shoe so I feel like I have more room. The extra cushioning is noticeable but not obtrusive. The vibram sole is very grippy. I run in PNW/Vancouver area (North Shore) and so far I’m really liking the updates. My only two gripes would be that I don’t like the fabric gaiter hook, not sure it’ll be as durable as the metal was. And the width in the toe box…I like it but I think it went a little too far. Felt my foot shift a bit on my run this am, more so vs my 10s or 13s. Materials are very nice and quite durable so far.
