Billie Lug Sole Loafer (Women)

This is such a cute, comfy loafer with the lug sole and padded insole. I'm usually a solid 5UK/7.5US in Paul Green shoes. This time the 7.5 was slipping off at the heel and gaping on the sides. When I sized down to the 4.5UK/7US I couldn't even get my foot in the shoe. Sadly I returned both pairs. I bought the black patent and am wondering if the the tobacco or wine would have fit better. Unfortunately, they're sold out in my size.

I ordered this shoe in Wine. It is a deep wine - nearly black, but the color is lively in the light. As with other shoes in from this brand, the quality is excellent - every stitch in place, everything perfectly polished, firm footbed that has a nice cushion. This is a fabulous, fabulous shoe. This shoe would upgrade any outfit - can totally see wearing this with a funky top and jeans out on the town. But unfortunately, I am having to return these. Super-high foot arches run in my family, and the vamp on this loafer comes back far enough that it does not work for my feet. I've called the shoe "narrow" above, but it is more the volume at the vamp - which is part of the width. The width at the ball of your foot and toes is just fine. So if you are in the unlucky ~5% of people who can't get their feet into boots or most loafers, this isn't the shoe for you. But for the 95% of folks with normal feet, this is gorgeous, luxurious-looking, and a great deal!

Paul Green has always been my trusty go-to for sensible, solid shoes, but this season a few of my friends and I are noticing we can’t find our sizes available much of the time, and when we do, they seem tighter than in years past. I was so thrilled when these shoes went on sale, and I bought both of 9 1/2 10 just to be sure, and I can’t squeeze into either one of them. What’s happening?

I have loved Paul Green shoes/boots until this pair. There is something odd with the sizing. I have always fit in a size US 10 but they were huge. I settled on a 9.5 but the heel is still unusually loose. And then there is a weird squeaking/farting sound when I walk. They are cute shoes, the lug sole is light and comfortable but since I’ve worn them I’m not going to return them but they are definitely a disappointment and not worth what I paid for them.

I’ve tried on a lot of loafers this year, but nothing compares with these beautiful, lightweight, and super comfortable loafers by Paul Green. I have wider feet, the spacious toe box of these loafers doesn’t pinch my toes at all, plus the insoles have a lot of cushioning, I bet I can walk in these for hours! Love, love, love.
