Palermo Sneaker (Women)

I’m an adult female and I’ve worn Pumas for almost 20 years mainly because I have small feet (size 35 European, size 4; or size 5 if the brand sizing is equivalent to 35EU), and many Puma styles are offered in small sizes, not necessarily just Children’s styles & sizing. I have found all the styles I like in a Men’s size 4 and Children’s size 4. I’ve never bought anything in a women’s size. I saw the Palermo style here and loved the colour offerings. Since it came in a 5 Women, I figured I’d be safe size-wise as I checked with the size chart which noted that a size would be equivalent to 35/36EU. I was fine with that because Pumas run slim/small which is a bonus for someone like me. I purchased the Palermo Women’s size 5 in Peach Frost/Tropical Blue. Gorgeous! But taking it out of the box I could tell that it was big. I checked the inside of the shoe for the size (shown also on the outside of the shoe box) and it was indeed a 5. However, the European equivalent was 37! This was not the size chart that was posted online for this style and gender. Because I’m used to buying Pumas and buying children’s shoes in general for myself, what I realized was that these ‘Adult’ Palermo shoes are based off Puma’s Men sizing. Puma Men’s size 4 shoes that I own are equivalent to 35.5EU. Puma Children’s size 4 are sized the same. (See pics) I have worn Small Kids size 3 comfortably in other styles and brands. Anyway, I hope this helps someone who’s deciding on buying these. Maybe you’re a size 6, or a small size 7/37EU — these may fit you. But it’s a no to my fellow small-footed sisters. But aside from the disappointment of sizing misinformation, the Palermo is comfortable and come in great colours. They are a minimal style so know that these are not cushy — like my favorite Easy Rider.

I wanted to love this shoe. I usually wear a size 6 in sneakers and a 5 1/2 in regular shoes. I ordered a 6 in this shoe and it just fit. I felt like my toes almost touched the top. I was purchasing these for walking in Europe on a vacation. They were also a little wide in the heal. I just didn't find them that comfortable for walking all day, so I had to return them.

Just reiterating what previous reviewers have said- these are NOT women's sizes listed. I have a pair of these and was excited to buy another color. The pair I bought in person through a different retailer is labeled as 8 women's, UK 5.5, Euro 38.5. I assumed that since these are specifically listed as women's shoes, I should order a size 8. What I received is labeled "US 8" UK 7, Euro 40.5. There is no indication anywhere in the product information that the sizes listed online are actually men's/unisex sizes since again, these are listed as WOMEN'S shoes. Nordstrom should really update the product information since multiple people have already reported this.
