My go-to winter pants

I've had these pants for a year and I love them. In winter, they are my go-to for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking, perfect with a base layer. The bootlace hook and drawcord at the cuffs helps prevent snow from getting in your boots. I like how comfortable they are and do not restrict my movement. The inside is also soft enough to wear on their own on wet, cool days during shoulder season. I'm really happy they have the short version, perfect for my 5'3". My only complaint is the integrated belt has a tendency to twist inside of its sheath; it's really hard to fix and quite annoying.

Pants are excellent in extremely cold weather such as single digits below and above 0. However, if you're hiking at a fast pace and get hot easy, they're a bit hot. Especially if you're wearing a base layer. These pants vents on the sides to control temperature better. The gator at the bottom is excellent. We did 12 miles in the mountains at about -5 to 5 deg F and we butt slide through two to three feet deep snow and it kept us dry. Recommend buying but ensure you don't wear a base layer if you plan on sweating, even if the temperature is in the teens.

Loved these for my winter hike

I got these to go hiking/climbing in extremely cold weather in the Northeastern US. They are comfortable and held up extremely well with great flex and mobility. Perfect length to accommodate for mountaineering boots and just right for those subzero temperatures. I'm not an expert level winter sports person, but I would default to these for any winter/snow/ice activity.
