Waiau Sandal (Women)

Gorgeous and well constructed leather sandals. Pleased to have scored a black pair as they are sold out at Olukai and everywhere else. I'm a US 8/European 39 but the size recommendation for me was a 9, which was too big. The 8s fit me perfectly. The toe strap is a little tight on me - I have fine sturdy feet! - so I'm gently stretching those parts. Great if your feet run hot because they're not smothered in these pretty, delicate looking sandals. Comfortable smart sandals that you could really wear anywhere.

I have another pair of sandals from this brand which are so comfortable so I wanted to try out another style. I found these to be extremely painful. Not only did they give me terrible blisters, but they made the arch of my feet feel bruised— I could barely walk by the end of the night and it took a couple of days for the pain to go away. I never experienced anything like that with any other shoe before (hurting the arch of my foot like that). Maybe it’s just my foot anatomy, but they didn’t work for me. In addition to the issue of comfort, the quality is lacking. I only wore them the one time and by the end of the night, there were scuffs on the metallic. Can’t imagine these shoes would look good for long.
