Sculpt-Her^™ Marilyn Straight Leg Pants

I love NYDJ -- I've probably purchased a good 15-20 pairs of NYDK over that last 6 yrs, plus 2 of other brands. So, I really love NYDJ. When I touched the fabric to take them out of the plastic bag, I immediately let go and did not remove them from the bag. I tried 2 additional times to give them a chance, including tonight, as I made my final decisions on what to keep. They just made me think of yoga pants made in the style of jeans. The fabric is very soft, and reminds me of the softness of brushed denim of the 70s. The color, Oxford Navy, is rich dark blue. The truest Navy color I've seen in a while. The weave of the fabric reminds me of a knit twill, so finely knitted that it blurs the texture, making them "buttery" soft, as some yoga pants are referred. I think that for me, I prefer the look and texture of cotton denim for my jeans. I accept cotton-blends for stretch, but I still want the studiness of denim. For some, the softer fabric may be preferable.

I have a pair of Marilyn ponte pants in black that are the perfect pair of pants. I had high hopes that I would be happy with these. The 'sculpt her' style is very different in the waist. In Blue I was able to buy a size 0 and they are a little tight but they are okay other than the fact that they were about 2 inches too long and I had them hemmed. (For reference I'm a 27 in jeans, normally a size 4 in pants.) The gray pair in size 0 was so absurdly tight I ordered a 2 instead. The length shrunk when I washed them (almost too short), the fit in the hips is okay but the leg part is now baggy after wearing them a bit. Does not look good. Every pair of Marilyn pants from NYDJ I've tried seem to be slightly different from one another in length, thickness of material and the 'sculpt her' style in black and gray were insanely snug in the waist area.
