Marilyn Straight Leg Jeans

I ordered these in the color Belle Isle which is a lovely light denim color for summer. First I got a Size 0 which is my usual NYDJ Marilyn size. But they were very snug. So I returned them and ordered a Size 2 and those fit perfectly. Inseam is 32" which is fine for me. The waist on these jeans did not seem quite as high as other Marilyns I own and I did not like that. I'm an old lady and I love my mom jeans. But I didn't dislike it enough to return. Also, and this is a complaint with all the Marilyn jeans, they felt snug in the thigh. I'm not asking for the thighs to be baggy, but I also don't like them fitting like sausage casings. I'd like just a bit more ease through the thighs. Overall, a nice-looking pair of jeans that I'm happy to have for summer. Figure type is tall/slender.

These jeans are so grand. The color is the best part. Faded fronts are hard to find without holes. The only thing I would offer, there is a slight “beige/warm” effect which is only something to note when pairing tops. (Cool colors seem off). The material thickness is more than you would want on a hot Texas summer day..... but this should not hold you back from purchase. Note- they are high waist and I think it was noted in description. Just to be aware as all my jeans are lower and I am not aired to high waist. It is mainly in the back of jeans. Now for the sizing— super large. I finally landed on Size 2. Normally size 4 or 27. These are still somewhat loose. All in all - I’m keeping and glad I got them. Enjoy and hope this helps others.

Color is great, fit is awesome, but buyer beware. I love NYDJ jeans, and have for well over 10 years. I’ve noticed the change in the denim over the past say 3 years, and my last 3 pairs have all worn out in the crotch area. By worn out, I mean that the area becomes so thin that it begins to become threadbare and then there is just holes. I have invested in patches, that I iron on the inside. Not very comfy, but for what these jeans cost, I am not ready to part with them. I’m a fluffy girl and wear a NYDJ size 12. They are not tight or binding in that area or in the hips, so I do not think it’s me squeezing my fluff in and damaging the denim. I wash in cold water, low spin, gentle/hand wash cycle and always hang to dry. I’ve found that hanging to dry over a chair out of direct sunlight is best, to retain shape and length, as I have a 32” inseam. I just bought a size 14, to see if going up will help. Now I need to get belts. I honestly wish NYDJ would offer more of the light blue color, instead of medium to dark, in straight leg and pink and green, if they are reading this, and to look at some sort of comfortable way to keep the crotch from becoming threadbare and worn out in 5 months.
