Comfortable shoes with questionable durability
These shoes are really comfortable but unfortunately these are not durable at all. The upper material where the toe bends started to tear after only 3 months of daily walking. I have contacted support and they refused to replace the shoes as this is not “normal wear and tear” even if I have been using them to walk my dogs. Very disappointing product and support by Arc’teryx. I was expecting a better product at that price point

Hello Max, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Norvan LD 4 GTX. We’re glad to hear the shoes were comfortable for daily use, but we’re sorry to learn that the upper began to tear so quickly — that’s never the experience we want for anyone, especially with a product designed for high‑mileage performance. The LD 4 uses a lightweight, breathable upper to keep the shoe responsive over long distances, but we understand that daily flexing at the toe can highlight wear differently depending on gait, terrain, and usage patterns. We’re sorry to hear that your Product Service Request didn’t lead to the outcome you were hoping for, and we appreciate you sharing this feedback. It will be passed along to our product and after‑sales teams as we continue to evaluate durability and support across the line.

LD3 was a far superior shoe.
I can't express how disappointed I am in these shoes versus the LD 3 version. Just about every aspect is worse. The fit is narrow to the point of being painful yet it feels longer and sloppy, especially in the heel. The feel while running is overly stiff comparable to the older version with obviously reduced cushion underfoot. It feels like a fashion shoe vs. a technical trail shoe. The design of the lacing system being hidden and tucked underneath creates weird pressure points and causes the fabric to bunch up when you try to get the shoe tight enough. Somehow they even managed to make the lace garage worse than previous versions. I'll be scouring the internet to try and find the older LD3 version if I can.

Hi Justin, thank you for sharing your review of the Norvan LD 4 GTX Shoe. We’re sorry to hear how it fell short of your experience with the LD 3. Fit, cushioning, and lacing are essential in a technical trail shoe, and your feedback around the narrowness, stiffness, and lacing pressure points is very clear and appreciated. We understand how frustrating it is when a trusted product evolves in a way that no longer works for you. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we’ve shared it with our design team to help improve future products. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review.

Poor Running Experience
Overall disappointed in this shoe. It lacks in almost every aspect. The waterproofing is poor on my first run, I could feel water seeping in through the top of the shoe where your toes create a crease. The heel has an odd shape that immediately caused blisters. The shoe feels both too large and too small at the same time. The toe box is tight, while the overall length feels about one size too big. The fabric is very rigid, and the lacing is awkward. It feels difficult to properly secure your foot, even when using a heel lock. The shoes also seem to lack support, as my feet go numb very quickly when running in them (though I’m unsure if that’s due to overly tight lacing or a lack of support). The grip provides good traction in both warm and cool environments, but it is very slippery on ice. The shoes look visually appealing, and the sole is comfortable. Gave Arc’teryx shoes a try, even though I had heard very poor reviews, because I really like their other products, but this was a flop. I don’t think I’ll be buying any more shoes from Arc’teryx.

Hello there, thank you for giving the Norvan LD 4 GTX a try and for sharing such a detailed review. We’re sorry to hear the shoe didn’t meet your expectations. The issues you experienced with waterproofing at the forefoot crease, heel fit and blistering, the contrast between a tight toe box and longer overall length, as well as the challenges with rigidity, support, and achieving a secure lockdown are not the experience we aim to deliver, and your notes are incredibly valuable. We’re glad the traction in most conditions, visual design, and midsole comfort landed well, even if they didn’t outweigh the concerns you encountered. We truly appreciate you taking a chance on our footwear despite the feedback you’d heard, and we’ll be sharing your comments directly with our product team as we continue refining future iterations.

A Good Shoe
These are comfortable shoes that you can spend your entire day in. I’d recommend cushioned socks and that you keep a shoe brush and cloth at the door when you get home as these shoes hold on to dust and dirt. The lace pocket on the tongue is really awesome!!
