Dri-FIT Performance Shorts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been really impressed with these shorts and wanted to write a detailed review because there are several things about them that make them stand out from other workout shorts I have tried. The biggest things I noticed right away are how light the fabric feels, how useful the vents on the sides are, and how much I appreciate having the internal layer underneath the outer shorts. The combination of those three features makes these shorts feel very practical for working out, running, walking, training, or even just wearing around on a warm day. The first thing I noticed when I put these shorts on was how lightweight they feel. The fabric does not feel heavy or bulky at all. That is especially important to me when I am exercising because I do not like shorts that feel like they are weighing me down or holding onto a lot of moisture. These have a very light feeling that makes them easy to forget about once I start moving. The outer material feels smooth and comfortable, and it does not have that thick or stiff feeling that some athletic shorts have. The lightness of the fabric is probably one of my favorite things about these shorts. There is something really nice about putting on workout clothes and feeling like there is almost nothing there. These shorts move with me instead of making me feel like I am wearing an extra layer of clothing. When I am walking, running, stretching, doing exercises, or moving around during a workout, the shorts stay comfortable and do not feel unnecessarily heavy. I also really like the side vents. They might look like a small design detail, but they actually make a noticeable difference when moving around. The vents give the outer shorts more room to move, especially when taking longer steps, bending, stretching, or doing exercises that require a wider range of motion. I have had athletic shorts before that looked fine but felt restrictive whenever I moved my legs in certain directions. That is not really an issue with these. The side vents give the shorts a little more freedom. They allow the outer fabric to move naturally rather than pulling tightly against the legs. When you are just standing around, you might not think much about them. Once you start exercising, though, you can appreciate why they are there. They make the shorts feel less restrictive and allow for a much more natural range of motion. I especially notice the vents when running. Every stride feels more natural because the outer material has room to move. I do not have to think about adjusting the shorts or pulling at the fabric. They simply move along with me. That is one of those small features that becomes more important the longer you wear the shorts. The vents are also helpful during exercises where you are moving your legs in different directions. Whether I am stretching, doing bodyweight exercises, squats, lunges, or other movements, I like having that extra freedom around the sides. The shorts do not feel like they are fighting against my movement. Another thing I really like is the internal layer. Having the inner shorts underneath the outer layer gives me a feeling of extra coverage and security that I do not get from regular loose workout shorts. I like knowing there is another layer underneath, especially when I am moving around a lot. It gives the shorts a more secure feeling without making them feel overly heavy. The internal layer is one of the reasons I would choose these over a basic pair of athletic shorts. With a normal pair of loose shorts, sometimes I am constantly thinking about how the shorts are sitting or whether they are going to move around during exercise. With these, the internal layer gives me much more confidence to move naturally. When I say the internal layer is protective, I mean it provides that extra layer of coverage and helps everything feel more secure during movement. It is not just there for appearance. It serves a real purpose. It makes the shorts feel more complete and more suitable for active use. The only thing I would change is the sizing it is smaller than expected and the sizing is very tight. This is different from the sizing of the other shorts
