Air Max 90 Sneaker (Women)

I’m a woman with a physical disability and I use a custom Exosym external brace in order to exercise and get around without my cane. The brace is a great idea in theory but sadly no one designs off-the-rack shoes for our braces and nearly all retailers charge you for two pairs of shoes to get the correct sizing split. I end up cramming the Exosym into non-adaptive shoes for for double the price and just making do. That said, I am so thrilled that I have now found a neutral-color shoe in the right sizes that fit the brace without rolling the sole, feel supportive and comfortable, don’t make an unpleasant or squeaking sound when I walk, and don’t squeeze the top of my toes into numbness. I will wear these to jog because I have yet to find running shoes that work with my brace (those flimsy form-fitting running sock-like sneakers do NOT provide enough structure for the brace - don’t shame me please). Someday someone will make a running shoe for us, but for now I am happy that these work. And HUGE thank you to Nordstrom for allowing split sizes at no extra charge!!! The disability world appreciates you and Nike (who also allow no-cost split sizing) for being inclusive. We pay thousands out of pocket for our medical devices, surgeries, and treatments so this savings means the world to us and it means we get to be in the world more often and in more stylish and active ways. Fingers crossed that these hold up! It took me almost two years to find a new pair of shoes.

I bought these Nike’s in the pink color and they are cute! I normally wear an 8.5 in Nike and I ended up with a size 8. They are very comfortable, has a lot of support and I will definitely get another color in these. Online the pink looks a lot lighter but in person it’s a brighter bubblegum pink.
