Perfect Layer Tank

I was so excited to find this top- searched forever for this very 'look' to wear under cardigans and straight leg pants/ legins. Pros- higher neck- layer necklaces, collar necklaces and scarfs looks great. The longer length helps enable me to wear my shorter cardigans Great sleeves- I am self conscience of my bigger 'flabby' arms and never wear sleeveless- but, with this top - could get by with taking off my jacket or sweater if needed Great color selection- but- my sizes were out of stock ( con ) Great material- looks and feels expensive- not a cheap shirt- but, not overpriced either- great material - dress up or down- unlike silk or other rayon. - nice matte. - washable - I would hang dry- wash on delicate Cons- Fit. If you have a larger tummy- as I do- sizing is difficult - I need a large- but- (175)But- even w xl- I have to wear a 'smoothing' cami under- to hold me in- even then- my bulge to shows- in the white- and that's 'my color choice'- perhaps darker color would not be an issue. Another problem with xl - for me - baggy in the collar - I figure- with the large that would not happen. I still love this shirt and able to wear w different looks. One specific is baggy shorter cardi and a longer scarf I really wanted navy- out of stock- I got the Ash- ( sent back) hard to tell by picture- bad color for me- All in all- great top- perfect length for me- 5.5-

There's a lot to love about this tank: extremely flattering, high quality fabric, and rich neutral colors. The higher neckline and armpit holes made this a classy staple. Despite all this, I have to return it because of the darting at the bust area (not visible in the product photos). Where the darts ended on either side of the bust, it poked out...took the classiness of the tank down several notches.

Colors: I tried powder' and 'mushroom.' "Powder" is grayish, 'mushroom' is light taupe. Mushroom was great against my olive complexion but Powder just washed me out and made me look older. But it could be opposite for someone with a different complexion. My advice: try several colors. Fit: I found the bust to be surprisingly tight relative to the rest of the cut which skims the remainder of my figure. I like that, except it puckers near the armpits. I am usually a S in this line (6-8 in tops), and tried a M based on reviews. I might even try the L now that I see the fit. Length: I don't know why it's petite, unless it's supposed to be a tunic that covers the rear. I'm 5'-7 and it seems long compared to my other tops. But if it's truly intended for petites, maybe that's why there's armpit puckering...? Overall: buy with caution

I don't usually wear brown, but this shade flatters my skin. There are pieces of jewelry, shoes, and other odd bits in my closet that suddenly look good; this ties them together. The petite length is perfect for me. It's longer, and updated, but works well for me at 5'2". Just be aware that it fits close to the body, so if you carry a lot of weight in the middle, that might be an issue. I always wear a size up from what I do in Eileen Fisher, and this style is no exception.

This is my second Perfect Layer Tank. I like the "muscle T" because it covers bra straps if I want to remove my jacket. The style is like a stretchy T shirt that fits true to size, albeit snugly. The length is a little odd because it is long, as the picture shows, this is not great if your hips are a size larger than your top. Only three stars because the color faded quickly and the length issue. It's still one of the better tanks available right now.

The reviews for this tank are quite accurate. I bought two, navy and black, primarily because this type of layering piece is hard to find. I returned the white because the fabric seemed too heavy for summer which is when i would wear white. Plus: high neckline, good fabric Negatives: slight flare at hemline(makes wearing it with a short top problematic) darts at armhole do gap a bit very long tunic-type tank
