What it does: This modern, long-wearing formula in a jumbo pencil format provides great wear and intense, vibrant color with a satin finish. The convenient pencil allows for easy and precise application, which makes it perfect for using as a liner for dramatically lined lips or as a finishing touch to create and mix your own lip color. Each vitamin-enriched shade named for the world's lushest parks and gardens hydrates and protects lips while also making them appear fuller. Ultra-creamy and comfortable, it leaves lips nourished, pampered and protected with pomegranate fruit extract, vitamin E and more, while a unique complex including collagen prepeptides and hyaluronic acid help lips look plumper and more hydrated.
How to use: Apply directly to the lips. Define then fill in the entire lip area, or use as a liner only and fill with any NARS product.

Luscious Luxembourg
The Nars Satin Lip Pencil is unlike any lip pencil I've ever used before, it is thick enough to easily swipe on one's lips, yet the tip allows for the precision needed to simultaneously define one's lips. The formula is some magical combination of long-lasting emollient s that I've never encountered before in any lip stick or lip pencil. I VERY lightly powder my lips before application. I saw a picture of the actress Julie Delphy wearing Nars Luxembourg (a beautiful pink/red),and as we have similar coloring decided to give it a try. Any blonde who has dreamed of finding that perfect red lip shade that doesn't wear her-Nars Luxembourg is your answer. This shade may be one of those that are universally flattering. Nars Satin Lip Pencils are worthy of cult status!

Worst ever!
First off, I love the color I bought. Got to use it for about 3 days. The cap was weird and didn't not want to stay on. On third day I sorta wiggle it on so I could carry in my purse and apparently the pressure shoved the actual lip stick portion down into the pencil. Apparently the lipstick does not run down the length of the pencil. Not by a little but by quite a bit. Worst purchase ever. If I had a Nordstrom locally I would have returned.

How I have never tried these before?! I have somewhat full lips and am extremely picky when it comes to lip products, especially when it comes to such pigmented formulas, but these Nars Satin Pencils are winners in my book. They last for hours, have a creamy-matte finish, are neither hydrating nor drying, and leave behind a gorgeous stain. I tried Rikugien (a MLBB, everyday pink - fairly sheer and not as long lasting as the others), Hyde Park (an everyday neutral red with berry undertones), Majella (a fabulous true garnet red), and Palais Royal (a deep, dark, rather intense berry red). I can take or leave Rikugien and Palais Royal, both of which are perfectly nice shades but nothing particularly special, but I LOVE Hyde Park and Majella - I have never come across such flattering, easy to wear reds (for reference, I'm somewhere between Mac NC35-NC40 with dark hair). Can't wait to try more!

Fantastic.Delivers everything promised.
I have tried so many of these large diameter lip pencils - and from the top brands - Bobbi, Trish, Laura, and all the rest. This one is by FAR the best. Genuinely non-drying vs. every single other one like this claiming the same thing - this one actually is NOT drying and I have consistently dry and messed up lips (from medication, super thin skin, and 62 yrs on the planet). But mostly the color GOLSHAN is the first brand name red that I feel I can really wear well. This is essentially a brick red. Lots of pigment here thus the high price (you need less to get same effect, in other words). Sharpens just fine with any of the available large diameter good sharpeners (I used Bobbi's).Nars makes 3 formulas.This one is the satin finish.I also have the semi-matt one in Cruella (a blue-r darker red).Just get this.Terrific ...and from me, who returns more than 1/2 the stuff I buy and I don't shop that often, this is frankly the first 5 star review I've ever created on this web site. Ok, that says something, right?!

All these satin pencils are amazing, rich, smooth. and look hot on. Lodhi is very Coral, perfect on "bronzey" skin with a pop of color.

Stourhead Rocks
My love for NARS lip products continues - I got both Stourhead and Villa Lante. True to form they are both very well made, go on silky smooth, and the pencil helps you precisely apply. I find this variation (the satin lip pencil) to be very creamy. I love both colors but the Stourhead color is amazing, unique, and so great for spring. I'll be wearing it everywhere, I highly recommend it!

PERFECT lip pencil
I've been trying out all different brands when it comes to lip pencils - NARS has got to be the best. I love their Matte pencil, but it quickly dries out my lips. These satin lip pencils last forever and hydrate my lips! Palais Royal is a similar color to Damned, a beautiful wine color. I've been waiting for Damned to come back in stock, but decided to settle for Palais instead. Never been happier with a lip color purchase!
