Ita Kabuki Brush

I gave it two stars instead of one because it does serve a purpose and it does an ok job of it but for $55 it's not with it. It's scratchy and sheds as soon as you wash it so many bristles fall out! I have $8 brushes that don't do that! And I'm also not fond of the fact that as soon as it's back in stock they jack up the price. For $55 why can't they make a brush that doesn't shed!

So this brush is interesting. It is not all one brush.... its a little tiny travel size looking brush that is clamped and sewn in between the cool rubber handle. At first I was super disappointed, especially with the way it wasn't blending and I was happier with my $3 elf brush I was using to contour. But I decided, since I had waited so long to get the ITA, after hearing amazing things I would stick it out. I am glad I did because now that its "broken in", it contours and blends like it should. Just had to work with it for about a month until then. FINALLY! Do I think its really worth the $55? Nah probs not... but I feel like I have to hang on to it since its the infamous ITA!!

I was in the market for a contouring brush that allowed for more precise application on my face shape (which is between circle and square) and cheek dimensions. So, after countless raving reviews and YouTube videos regarding this brush, I finally bit the $55 bullet. However, for me, the product didn't meet its hype. Yes, the bristles are luxuriously soft, the handle is smooth to the touch, and I am now able to contour more precisely but I expected more from the brush. For example, the bristles could be a little more compact especially since this brush is designed specifically for "targeted contouring". Also, I question this brush's longevity because, at just one month of light use, the bristles are already "fanning" out and I wouldn't be surprised it it eventually loses its shape (and, therefore, its primary purpose). It would have been a great idea if the brush came with some sort of storage piece/cap to help keep its shape. Anyway. I like that I now have a brush that helps me contour the compact dimensions of my check. But, if I again find myself in the market for this kind of brush, I'll more than likely look for a cheaper model. P.S. I know some folks stated that this brush shed but mine doesn't. And I clean mine after each use with MAC's brush cleaner.

I had high expectations for this brush from all the great reviews. I ended up very disappointed. Yes, the brush will do sharp contour very well but I noticed with each use it became very scratchy and It also started losing its shape and became more splayed within the first month of use. Out of all my brushes, and I own both high and lower end brands (from Suqqu, Chikuhodo, Wayne Goss, to Real Techniques, Mac, Crown and Ecotools) this one sheds the most and has the most breakage when washing, and I do take very gentle care when washing all my brushes. There is no reason this brush should shed the way it does and at this price point. The ITA is over hyped and overpriced for the quality and the job it does. There are much better options out there especially for the price point. I do not understand so many positive reviews and do not recommend.

I first saw this brush being used by Jaclyn Hill, on her YouTube channel -- it's her favorite brush for contouring. Upon looking it up, I realized how expensive it was and immediately thought: no way, I'm not paying that much for a brush. Eventually, I sucked it up and bought it anyway, after reading all the reviews. It's amazing, it's worth every penny. Since it's wide and flat, it makes contouring your face so easily -- it's easy to draw straight lines along your cheekbone with just a few strokes. Mine shed a little bit after washing it for the first time, a few hairs have fallen out since then but it's nothing to be concerned about. It's super soft, the bristles aren't stiff, and they may look a little choppy and frazzled at first glance, but this brush is a godsend.

I don't know if i got a defected one or what but my ita brush sheds so much every time I use it. It does make conturing so easy and lays the product on the face beautifully. Being fiftfive dollars to have a brush shed every time you use it is not worth it.
