N°5 Eau de Toilette Spray

I am a die hard Number Five lover, in my mid-40s, who discovered Number 5 in the last ten years. I own and use the Bath Soap, Shower Gel, Deodorant, Body Lotion and Body Cream. I also own and use the Eau de Parfum, La Premiere EDP and used the previous edition EDT. This new formula is a fantastic new take on the classic and feels woodier, fresher and yet still smells like Number Five. I find it great for already hot weather in the Sun Belt or maybe best when you want Number Five, but more subtle than the enveloping Eau de Parfum. It definitely feels more distinct than the previous EDT version. Also, while longevity is less than the EDPs due to lighter concentration, I think longevity has also improved since the previous EDT edition. Highly recommended for Number Five fans!

Lovely scent. Very beautiful. Makes me smile. Honestly this has been the best purchase I have made in a while.

Unfortunately, the EDT has been reformulated and smells very similar to the 1980's EDP - sharp woods and heavy florals with long-lasting aldehydes. Gone is the bubbly champagne opening and the soft, lactonic, peachy sandalwood middle. While the jasmine rose dry down is similar, it is fleeting and no longer lasts all day. A sad downgrade that now costs much more.

I have followed this scent since childhood! It was what my mother wore in the early 1950s and her life through. I imagined she wore it because of Marylyn or maybe because my father loved the way she smelled and bought it for her. Chanel No5 has been my go to since I was a young woman. For me the scent evokes beloved memories of my young mother additionally when I wear this scent I feel soft, sensual . I know I smell wonderful to myself and hopefully others who pass by me. I only wish I could have a bottle of Chanel No 5 from the fifty’s as I know the formula has changed but Chanel No 5 to date is still Chanel No 5 and I love it!

Product is great. Lousy samples of weird hair products. Don’t give away lousy with great.
