Garden Jar

I followed the instructions exactly on my cilantro, rosemary, and basil kits. All three grew mold. Only one sprouted and that was basil. I contacted company who suggested more ventilation. I moved to more ventilation. Basil still has mild and the other 2 never sprouted. What a waste!

I loved gardening this way. I originally bought two basils, and one each mint, and parsley. The mint did not germinate and I replaced the seeds with other mint seed I bought. Those did fine. I am now buying rosemary but I would love to see other options such as oregano, thyme, dill, and chives. As I am in a senior assisted living facility outdoor gardening, which used to be my passion, is no longer available to me. This helps to fuel my gardening needs!

After 2 months I was able to harvest from majority of my jars! The photo to posted are all 6 jars after 3MONTHS! I absolutely love the simplicity of putting it all together and the maintenance it requires. Even if you feel like you don’t have a green thumb, these jars will change that for you.

I only started one of the two I ordered and it's doing great. I will start the other one later this week.

It’s just a jar, a growing medium, and a packet of nutrients — no electronics, no pumps. Setting it up was quick: I placed the medium in the jar, added water and nutrients, and tucked the seeds inside. The lavender took a little patience to sprout (about two weeks for me), but once it did, the little green shoots looked adorable against the glass jar. I like that I can see the whole process, from roots to leaves, without dealing with soil mess. It’s a peaceful little project that adds some green to my desk while I wait for the lavender’s scent to develop.
