Love the Gore-Tex !!
I have multiple pairs of the Moab Speed 2 but these are by far my favorite, I didn’t know if I would like the feel of the Gore-Tex but they feel great not to mention how lightweight they are. Five stars all the way around.

Boots squeak after the first week. Love this brand but this time around with boots didn’t work out. Going to end up getting a different type

Junk quality, Merrell doesn’t stand behind them.
Bought a few months ago, finally got around to wearing them last week. Three hikes in and my Achilles had a blister and cut from a bad stitch in the collar. Merrell won’t exchange them because I received a discount on them when they were purchased.

No longevity
I’ve bought a few pairs of these and only seem to get about 2 months before the waterproofing completely disappears and my feet get wet. I think it’s a decent shoe but not for the price tag. Merrells used to be my go to for outside shoes, but I will start to look else where due to the inflated price tag on average shoes.

Close to great
Pros:
Great traction from vibram and lug design, super light, looks cool.
Cons:
Colors don’t match product photos very well, they are much darker and more blue irl. Ankle support is very minimal but squeezes my ankle bones uncomfortably if too tight. It seems to be designed for a thick foot because I really have to cinch them down to get my foot to not slide forward in the foot bed going down hill. But at that point they’re uncomfortably tight.
Coming from a product design & dev background, I get it’s difficult to make a shoe fit all shapes and sizes but I feel like they could do a better job with this especially offering a wide version. Even with a very thick sock my foot still feels like it needs to be much thicker to really have it fit like a glove. They should really focus on that aspect of their shoes because I found this true with the standard speed 2 version as well.

Moab Speed 2 Thermo Mid Waterproof -A Great Boot
I’ve had my Moab Speed 2 Thermo Mid Waterproof for over a year and they are great. Nice light weight and warm well into the low 20’s. Good price point, especially on sale. Glad the new ones changed the old double buckle to a single one that is easier to tie, highly recommended.
