Merrell's suck now, they used to be good.

Years ago Merrell shoes used to be comfortable; now the heel is too wide, the toe isn't wide enough. Too much arch support, my feet have arches I don't need my shoes to have arches in them. The heel cup is too flat (not rounded enough to fit a normal round shaped heel). If you want to make a better shoe look at 'Altra's lone peak mens'

Comfort and support straight out of the box

I have wide feet and new shoes are always a problem. These fitted straight out of the box and the arch support works very well.
