Akoya Pearl Stud Earrings

These have a good luminosity and color (a cool white with gray undertone), and the pair is well matched. The settings feel sturdy. The “butterfly” backs lock securely. The pearls are perfectly round and have no flaws that I’ve noticed. However, the 7-7.5 mm is an exaggeration. My pearls are just barely 7mm. I assume the .5 is there in part for some fudge room, but it may also be for marketing purposes. It makes the buyer feel that she could be getting a slightly larger pearl than she will get. A 7mm pearl is a good, everyday size, and a good choice for a very young woman. If you want an evening look, or if you have larger lobes, you probably want to get an 8mm set.

I bought a pair of grade A from another mikimoto retailer and they don't carry A+ , so i purchased a pair of 6-6.5mm grade A+ here and very disappointed. The pearls are smooth and shine at top, but scrubbed about 1/4 from bottom, you can feel when you touch them, and you even can see a scrubbed line on one of the earrings, and the pearls are not a round shape due to that reason. But it didn't happen to the previous purchase. I returned them and hope nordstrom should check this issue. I'm too disappointed so i pack the box immediately and forget to take a picture.
