I have a hard time finding affordable and comfortable swimwear pieces that last, so I was overly excited to receive this product for testing. This product is true to size and has been tested in water (just the tub, since it is still too cold to swim!) and it is very well made and doesn't flounce up and hold air pockets like some other brands. I can't wait for our vacation to the beach!! Overall, I would 100% recommend this item, but I do suggest shopping around to find discounted pricing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m going to be honest, these shorts are a lot shorter than they appeared in the picture. So while I’m not 100% comfortable in them, I can appreciate how well made they are. They seem true to size and there’s a slight compression in the bikini part underneath the shorts. I personally just wish they were a little longer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I prefer swim separates as I can better customize the fit of the finished product for my swimwear. I am no bikini model and know I wear sizes somewhere between the higher end of misses sizes and low end or right before plus sizes for clothez and swimwear alike (though I trend between a size 14 and 16 misses, not womens). This makes clothes shopping in general a case of "must try before you buy" for me. I have experienced inconsistent sizing in swim bottoms before and therefore don't have much faith in the number in the swimwear. I received the Trimshaper swim shorts in a size 14 but was still worried they might be too large or too small for me. Surprise: they fit perfectly with no pinching and still managed to provide support for my post-hystetectomy tummy but have enough stretch in them that if I went up in weight a tad I could still wear these swim shorts comfortably. I love that the shorts are of a 2 layer construction, with a more traditional bathing suit bottom underneath the very flattering jazz short style loose fabric. I also loved that the looser outer layer is not a transparent chiffon like so many swim skirts and shorts from other makers do. The outer shorts layer is of the same bathing suit material so it won't "almost disappear" when in a pool. I would recommend these swim shorts to anyone who hates chiffon swimwear overlays and prefers a comfortably supporting swim bottom.
