Foot Comfort is part of my job

I'm a mailman who walks over 12 miles a day, and my feet were killing me wearing the previous shoes!! My feet thanked me as soon as I put on these new Merrells, what a difference in foot comfort !!

Not my favorite.

This is my first pair of shoes from Merrell. I run regularly and walk about four miles a day, so I was curious to try the brand and see how they performed with frequent use. The overall build quality seems solid, though only time will tell how they hold up long-term. Comfort has been average for me. They perform well on dirt trails and uneven terrain, which is what they’re designed for, but I’ve found them to be surprisingly poor on paved surfaces, especially when wet. Even short stretches of pavement between trails feel slick, and I’ve slipped and fallen more than once. While my feet don’t feel sore, I’m always relieved to take them off at the end of the day. Based on my experience, I won’t be purchasing this model again. These may work for someone who stays strictly on dry trails, but I’d caution anyone who expects to encounter pavement along the way or is looking for a comfortable shoe.

What happened?

I bought these when they first came out, ended up being my favorite shoe. However, the last pair I bought was notably narrow, so much so that I can’t wear them more than an hour .

NOT FOR TRAIL RUNNING

Bought these today to replace my trail running shoes. I was super happy with the comfort until I hit the trail. The back half of the sole is rounded and the front is wide, so every step on uneven surfaces is feel like you’re rolling your ankle. I ran one of my usual trails to compare them and by the time I was done my ankle is completely shot. These are TERRIBLE for trail running. They would be good for even paths or pavement, but I have zero plans on ever wearing these again

very comfortable, no so durable

Bought these 2/29/26. Very comfortable but within 4 months the inside of the left shoe began splitting. I don't wear these every day and at 67 y/o you could hardly expect that I'm aggressive enough to destroy a well made shoe. Maybe at 40 or even in my 50s but nowadays it's more Netflix, less x game sports. Can't figure out the "add images " button or I'd load one up

Nova 4 passes the test in the Scottish Highlands

I used these on the West Highland Way in Scotland. The trails consisted of dirt and gravel paths, rough-paved military roads, stone steps, steep ascents and descents on rocks, and mud, lots of mud. Despite their light weight, the NOVA 4s provided ample support, cushioning and traction. They dried quickly, too.
