MTL Long Sky 2 Trail Running Shoe

I use these shoes exclusively for mountain trail running in the PNW. I've owned trail runners from all the major brands. These are by far the best shoes I've ever logged miles in. The fit is perfect with the integrated tongue. Grip on rock and mud is great. Durability is excellent. Perfect stack height and midsole feel. I've owned 5 pairs of these shoes (original & Matryx upper). If you do technical trail running this is the perfect shoe and no other brand's models come close.

Bought my first pair of these a few years ago, and I’m now in my third. I’ve put these things through mud, sandstone, snow, and pretty much anything else you can think of without any issues. The vibram holds up amazingly well, and the firmer ride provides a midsole that doesn’t break down like a lot of other shoes. The slight drop, and front rocker of this shoe make it feel natural underfoot, and not like I’m fighting the shoe when I really try to pick up the pace. There are very few shoes that I have been satisfied with to this level!

I don’t run on trails but I do hike and these have done everything I need them to whenever I don’t feel like wearing boots. Definitely go 1/2 a size down. So if you wear 10 get a 9.5. Comfortable, stylish and also great for weightraining due to the low stack height and great stability

I bought 2 pairs last year (one black, one pink/white). I love these shoes. They fit very snug without being tight on my feet. I have worn through one set of soles, but it had hundreds of miles on it. I did a rough mudder in them. Everyone else was slipping and sliding all over the place and I gripped on everything, mud, rocks, wood. I even tried to be kool and slide down a steep slide area and almost face planted because although my momentum and body went forward, my feet did not 😅 My only real “complaint” is that the lettering on the side pealed off rather quickly, and once the white was used on the first real muddy run, they were brown… but I guess that is unavoidable and I don’t really care. They still look great.

I live in Costa Rica and love hiking, my uncle who lives in the States helped me buy this shoes and brought them to me in Costa Rica. I worn them form my first hike, as many people have mentioned, they hurt the skin in the back of your heel. Extremely disapointed to say the least, I was hoping for a confortable versatile pair of shoes and got the exact opposite. I dont know if I am going to be able to wear them at all, what a waste of money. Probably never going to buy anything Merrell again.
