Hydro Moc Water Friendly Clog (Men)

I am a consumer based in Australia. I wanted a fully waterproof slip on sandal - shoe type of footwear that also provided toe protection. It was between the Crocs InMotion Clog & Merrell Hydro Clog. After testing both products I found the Merrell product had an overall better fit / ankle support than the Croc product. The Croc product is slightly softer in terms of cushioning. Both products are excellent for summer use & especially holidays in South East Asia where you need a waterproof product that protects your feet better than thong-style footwear. In terms of style: the Merrell Hydro Clog does look a little bit 'chunky' and the large webbed air spaces put it firmly in the casual - sports look (trekking, beach use, sight-seeing) rather than the smart - casual look (e.g. for summer parties, BBQs etc). This aspect, and the fact that the Crocs have a slightly more cushioned feel is why I opted to give this product a solid 4/5 rating. In the winter I put on a light pair of socks and use this product around the house as slippers.

I purchased these shoes two months ago to wear on the sandy beaches of Cains and the local swimming pool. I am greatly disappointed by them. They are okay with socks on as a dry slip-on. As a wet slip on in the pool, your feet slip in them and on the pool floor (No grip). On the beach, they fill with sand and rub your feet red. Cannot be recommended.
