Cham Redux 1TRL Sneaker (Men)

They are heavy, more than all my shoes I've had in my life. I don't understand how it can be trail shoes. Even for easy hiking, it's hard to go to the store in them. Their temperature regime is 32-45 °F, usually at this temperature it rains and is wet, and they are made of suede and with a mesh at the front (no logic) Even if they fit someone, then they did not wear light comfortable shoes. People with flat feet are generally contraindicated. Wasted money.

I've been wearing Merrell Chameleon Stretch shoes for more than 20 years. They've been my absolute favorite go-to daily wear shoes. They're absolutely the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn... a comfy, snug, easy fit that makes it easy to forget you're wearing shoes. Yet enough support for daily activities and light hiking. I was excited to see this version of the shoe for the first time... I thought it would be similar the Chameleons that I bought and loved in the 2000's. I was surprised when first putting them on... they felt stiff and rigid in ways that I'd not recalled experiencing with prior Chameleons. But figured I just needed to get them fully broken in. I've been wearing them daily for more than a month now and they're still stiff, rigid, and unyielding. To say that I'm disappointed would be an understatement. If I could trade this pair for a pair of the current non-redux version of Chameleon 8 Stretch's, I would. Mind you, they're not *terrible* or *cruel* shoes. They're just not what I've so long appreciated and come to expect.
