Hammer toes are the main problem shoes too narrow.
Tried the shoes in the store and it seemed they would work but when I put them on at home, the shoes barely squeezed on and I cannot wear them at all.

very comfortable but toe too rounded
I really wanted to love these since I need a good comfortable bootie to replace my similar (fashionable but discontinued) Arche Jimey booties. This Mephisto shoe looks too much like an "old lady shoe:" the toe is very rounded and it is kind of clunky-looking on my foot (almost like an orthopedic shoe.) Also, it features a more wedge type sole. I am sorry to return these, but know I will never be happy wearing these rather clunky, unfashionable shoes. If you are more practical, want to go for straight comfort and not worry about being fashionable, these could work! I am total fan of Mephisto Helen sandal which I have been wearing for years.

Great for after ankle surgery!
I am recovering from a broken ankle and needed boots that I feel stable in and that are comfortable and warm. These have been excellent!!! I feel like they don’t look too “ orthopedic,” and they feel really good on my injured foot. Sometimes even better than my brooks adrenalines!
