Match Walking Shoe

These are the best shoe ever made. I exclusively wear Mephisto shoes: for work, walking, everything. And these are the best ones. Now, a word of caution to Mephisto: Please do not change (or cheapen) this winning formula! The shoes recently stopped being "hand made in France". Now I'm noticing that some of them use a different textured leather and those ones also have a slightly different sole. This really really scares me. I pray that Mephisto doesn't screw up the Match. Please keep it great, keep it the same.

These have been my favorite shoes for years, and Nordstrom fortunately always seems to have them in stock. The shoes in gray "birch" are attractive, fit well on my wide feet, and provide good support for all sorts of walking, including through woods and other rough surfaces.

My dad has picky feet and these Mephisto shoes met the comfort challenge. The 'speed laces' make them easy to get on and off, and the foot bed and real rubber sole are comfy and stable. According to him, the arch support is great, and he doesn't need to wear his custom orthotic on one side. Amazing! Another plus is the quality of the leather and style look great. No more unattractive walking shoes! Splurge on these and you will have happy feet and look attractive and stylish at the same time. These shoes come in one width but run wide, which was perfect for him. Online Customer Service was extremely helpful.

My husband wears these shoes for work as a Pharmacist. It is the only shoe he can wear at work (poor arches and nerve pain from neuropathy). You won't be disappointed with this high quality shoe. A 10 on a scale of 1-5!

All I can say is that they are worth every penny. My husband has been barely able to walk in any shoe or slipper including his Ugg Boots for years. This last weekend, Christmas, he couldn't tolerate it any more so we went to Nordstrom's in Costa Mesa CA and found Corder (salesman). Corder introduced us to Mephisto and explained to us how the foot should arch in a shoe and why the Mephisto fit should improve the severe pain he was in. The first pair where great, bit that only lasted for a few days. This pair, the Match, was a perfect fit right from the beginning and still are; in fact we ordered a second pair in black. An investment in the future for sure!!!

I thought I already reviewed this, but Nordstrom's is requesting a review. I bought these because they were on sale and I would be saving some $$$ compared to my favorite Mephistos. [And quite frankly I REALLY refrain from buying anything french, but... Mephisto is better and worth the price difference] These Sperry's are a couple of steps down. { No pun! I didn't return them because I'm lazy. They run a bit narrow. Otherwise the size is legit.
