All wooden pieces should have image on both sides.
The rug itself is super cute and the wooden play pieces are beautifully shaped and sized for small hands. What would improve this would be for ALL of the play pieces to have the image on both sides. It's such a shame that the buildings are only decorated on one side whereas the animals and people are visible on both side of the pieces I bought the set to have at my house for my niece's little ones to play with when they come over. I noticed several times that one child would turn the piece around if the image wasn't facing him/her - and then sometimes the other child would reposition the piece so the image was then facing him/her all over again. For the price of the set, it seems one could expect all the pieces to be painted/printed on both sides.

This product gives hours of fun
My grandson already had the smaller Melissa & Doug rug play set, and he loved it. I bought him this one to go with it. He is delighted. He is only 2 1/2 years old, and it keeps him occupied for hours. He loves the cars and trucks. He adores the stop sign. He calls it by name and knows that its shape is an octagon! I taught him the sound that the wrecker makes when it backs up and pulls a car out of an accident, so he plays that. He makes siren noises for the firetrucks and ambulances. He calls it his Beep Beeps, and is well worth the investment.

Great for imagination play!
My 2 year old granddaughter spent 2 solid hours the first time she played with this! Suggestions would include paint on both sides of buildings, better hitch for the tractor/wagon, including some children pieces, and more fencing.
