Perfect for handbag
If I had to do it all over again, I would have bought the mixed bristle brush so that it would reach my scalp easier. I bought the full boar bristles thinking that I was paying so much for a brush I didn't want synthetic added. That said, though I have to work harder to get the bristles all the way to my scalp, it does feel good and my hair looks shinier afterward. Plus, the shape and size is perfect for my relatively small handbag.

Frustrating
Immediately bristles came out but it’s so expensive I still use it despite bare areas causing my hair to pull sometimes.

Plastic handle
I was expecting this Historic Mason Pearson hairbrush to be of the highest standards as they used to be.
The bristles are short. The handle used to be a solid wood with monogram. Now its a plastic handle, same as any othe $5.00 brush. Not to be expected on a small $140. Brush !

Great feeling hair
I'm giving 4-stars b/c I've had the brush for nearly a week so I can only give stars based on the difference I've seen in the timeframe I've used this brush. I gave birth 4-months ago and I'm at the point where I'm losing my lustrous pregnancy induced locks - I knew it had to come someday. Bought this hair brush to help with the sebum spread (what mother has time to wash their hair every single day?) and it's making my hair look and feel great. I have long, finer hair for reference and I still need to use dry shampoo on the day that I don't wash my hair but my hair looks and feels a lot better, cleaner, healthier and just "nice." And the feeling on your scalp? Amazing. I would buy this brush just to get that amazing scalp massage from the boar bristles. I can see how $120 on a brush can be ridiculous, but if you want to treat yourself to something really nice that will feel great, I would recommend this brush. Fingers crossed I will never misplace it.

Worth the Hype!
To even put into writing that I spent over $20 on a hairbrush, let alone over $100, feels absolutely crazy. BUT I am a convert to this brush! The reason I decided to go for it is because I’ve been noticing so much more breakage and shedding with my hair lately, and I was willing to try anything to help. I have very fine, medium-length, wavy hair that’s prone to breakage and split ends. I have to wash every other day, using dry shampoo on the off day, or else I look like a total greaseball. This brush gives my hair life on a normally limp and lusterless day two! It really helps distribute oil from my scalp to my ends and helps tame flyaways.
I can’t say yet whether it’s worth the steep price, but it is certainly the best brush I’ve ever used, and I’ve noticed so much less shedding (especially if I brush my hair out with this before I shower and wash it). Although the price tag hurts, I’m thinking of it as a long term investment in healthy hair!

Pocket Boar Bristle Brush
Best brush I have ever used for my baby fine hair. I like the compact size for travel and home use, too. Seems to diminish bed head hair. I now see fewer hairs on floor.

Necessary Luxury
Okay, so I haven't really 'brushed' my hair since I was a little girl. Wash, condition, comb, style, etc., but not really brush. This is a wonderful brush and does not hurt my sensitive scalp. My hair and scalp just feel better when I use this. I have short, fine hair (this brush is on the small size) and I think I could have stepped up to the Handy size, so for those with longer or thicker hair, you may want to invest in a bigger style. Regardless, never thought I would spend so much on a hair brush. Now I am hooked!
