Great Shell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While it’s a bit more crinkly than I expected, the waterproofing and pack ability are obviously well worth it. Used it during a rather lengthy summer thunderstorm hiking and camping in North GA and it was perfect. I find the term breathability to be subjective but this performed well and the pit zips were super handy. Sizing was perfect for me in the chest and sleeve length, and I could definitely add layers if needed in cooler temps. I’m 6’2” and 185lbs and ordered a large. FWIW, my old Quasar down puffer fits just about perfect under with little loss of loft, and my aerothermal and LLB primaloft packaway layer fantastically under it.

What happened?

The size was a XXL and it is smaller than the XL I bought in 1993. By 6 inches across the chest. Additionally, the material was not what i expected from Marmot. My original jacket was high quality material, and this did not feel close.

Surpasses my expectations!
