What it is: A beloved and famous drying lotion that helps heal and dry surface pimples or whiteheads overnight.

What it does: This best-selling formula contains a concentrated blend of calamine, salicylic acid and quick-acting ingredients.
How to use: At night after cleansing, toning and moisturizing, apply a dab of lotion directly on the whitehead using a cotton swab. Do not rub in. Let it dry and rinse off in the morning. Do not shake the bottle, and apply only the pink sediment on the skin.

MB Drying Lotion: Overnight Sensation
Ordered this based on reviews, as I’d never heard of this cult favorite till then. I get occasional flareups and can always use a quick fix. This is it. Effective, unique product. Travel friendly plastic bottle a must. I use with Buffering Lotion for before and after damage control.

drying lotion
So, my skin is usually pretty normal. I had a few little bumps and decided to use the drying lotion. It recommended to stay on overnight. The next morning I had small white pimples all over my face where I had applied it. Weird. Messed up my face.

Did not meet up to standards of a similar product
I bought this product because the chemical makeup is very similar to another excellent product - Kate Somerville's EradiKate. Mario Badescu is a respected name in skincare and has been around a long time. Unfortunately, the the MB product was very quick drying and difficult to blend in to a semi natural skin color. It is more like Calamine lotion. This would probably be fine for people who are using it for spot treatment at night. However, it is only four dollars (or so) less than Kate's product so I am sticking with her. The texture is better, does not leave skin feeling "cakey" and it last a long time. Sorry, Mario. Maybe next time.

Not miraculous.
I was hoping that this would be a miracle-worker for my hormonal breakouts, but it was just okay. No better than other acne treatments I've tried. Leaving the solution on pimples overnight alleviated some swelling, but did not remove them completely. Using it on blackheads caused dry patches where applied. For reference, I have fair, oily-combination skin, early 30s.

magic potion for pimples
you have a special day and all of a sudden this ugly zit pops up, well have no fear. 1 dab of this stuff and the next day the zit/pimple is shrunk and dried out. This think works.

a valuable staple!
I always keep at least two bottles of this around. It’s wonderful for clearing blemishes it’s also wonderful for bug bites!

Always have this! Effective
Love the smell and its calming. Important not to shake even if tempted. One dunk covers many zits -- if you only have one you have extra product on the swab. I usually find my husband and dab him too. I always have this and the plastic travel bottle is nice.
