Decadence Eau de Parfum

Ok. I will admit that I was first seduced by the package. Very nice presentation. I ordered it without trying, which I never do with fragrances, solely based on the review of a favorite beauty blogger. I have always been kinda "meh" about Marc Jacobs fragrances -- feeling that they are usually too sweet and childish for me. OMG! This one just absolutely wowed me! When I first put it on, I thought it was way too strong and I may have made a mistake. After 5 minutes it opened in a way I can only call heady and sensual. Intoxicating in a complex. sexy way. I could almost imagine sitting in front of a fire and drinking an expensive bottle of wine. I definitely caught the plum and saffron. When the heart appears, you can pick up the jasmine. It has a very oriental vibe. The dry down is absolute perfection. Soft, slightly sweet, slightly spicy. The papyrus wood really comes out. I can't stop smelling my wrists. This is definitely the opposite of the fruity, floral, youthful scents. Think sexy and and elegant -- sensual with a mature, edgy feel. Perfect for a night out, or in, with that special someone. Just for the record, I rarely write reviews unless something really blows me away. This definitely fit that criteria. Now I realize that everyone's chemistry reacts differently to fragrance and the notes may not be for you; but for me this is opulent and surprising -- pure decadence!
