Details & care

Built to explore beyond the piste, Mammut's Fall Line HS Thermo Hooded Jacket is after our own heart. The synthetic fill keeps our body heat close to ensure our muscles stay primed on the lift, while the waterproof construction and powder skirt stop spray from breaking through on the descent. As we fine our own line down ungroomed terrain, the relaxed fit and pre-shaped sleeves afford us full movement freedom, so nothing is holding us back.

Size

I ordered a medium based on the Fit Chart. The fit is great in the body and chest. The arms are excessively long. I purchased on closeout so it is not returnable. It's also summer so I cannot give feedback on warmth and function.

This jacket was designed very well for skiing in the cold.

It arrived just in time for the polar vortex.... Temperatures have ranged between -10 and 15 degrees. I skied in it again with a thermal shirt and sweater under the jacket and was comfortable even on the long chairlift rides in 10 degree temps with a bit of wind. I didn't know if I would like the longer length in back (maybe 4"), but the first time I sat on a chairlift in that jacket, I decided I like the feature a lot. I also like that the large pockets have zippers under the flaps to prevent losing items. The hood works well with a ski helmet. Conversely, if you're looking for a hood to fit your head snugly, this jacket won't be what you're looking for in your purchase.
