'Miro' Double Monk Strap Shoe

Grabbed these during the Anniversary Sale. Quite happy with them. I felt that the fit was true to size- I wear an 11 in the Allen Edmonds Strand, the Bruno Magli Maioco and most Cole Haans (though sometimes an 11.5 and a 12 in their parent, Nike). I have a slightly narrow foot, so if you're wide, my advice may not help. I'd suggest trying what you normally wear and then adjust to a new size if necessary. The front strap is locked down and doesn't need to be opened to get the shoe on while the back strap has some elastic to allow it movement to unbuckle. I also tried on the brown color of these and if I was a less rational person, I'd get those too. The style is a nice sweet spot of dressing things up without being too formal.

Fantastic shoes with an unusual, refined look. They seem very well made, but are not initially cushy and soft. So you're getting an 'old school,' Italian-style shoe that requires some break in, not a sneaker disguised as a work shoe. My break in time was very short, and mostly complete at maybe 3 or 4 wears. One small quirk is that with the large leather overlay that forms the two straps, they're a bit squeaky. To me, this is very pleasant, like what you'd hear with a good pair of polished leather boots or a riding saddle. I guess some folks can get by with slipping them on with a shoehorn, but I'm forced to have to unbuckle the top strap, which may or may not wear over time. And it's not apparent unless you have the shoe in hand, but the top buckle has a small elastic fitting to help the shoe move. This makes the shoe very comfortable. As someone who has probably never gotten a compliment for my shoes, I've already garnered a couple in only a few days. The look I think lends itself to being more formal, and I'd be mortified to wear these with jeans as some reviewers have suggested. These things look incredible with a nice pair of wool trousers. Magnianni sizing is hit or miss for me, but these run true to size. Keep also in mind that on my pair, the color was far more walnut than deep, reddish brown. So I'd avoid matching a belt to it online, and wait for them to show up at your door. But they are fantastic, and I'd recommend them any day.

beautiful shoe. understated elegance. excellent quality and fit. easily a 900 dollar shoe. the color will go with about anything but a black suit. great with jeans if you will. would buy in black if available. at this price you could buy a back up pair.

This shoe solicits a lot of compliments and it looks great! However, after a few months the strap that holds the buckle broke away. This is an expensive shoe and I now have to find a shoe repair shop. I have the single monk as well and while the straps are fine on it, the leather has not aged well. They are both good looking shoes but neither are as comfortable as a shoe in this price point should be. In summary, I think the focus for this shoe was appearance and more attention could have been given to design and functionality.

I normally wear a 9 in Ferragamo's or an 8.5 in Santoni and found that an "8" actually fit the best. To say they fit true to size is not accurate. I would highly suggest going down a 1/2 to a full size. Shoes look good and have the same patina/color as my $750 Santoni shoes and look better than my $950 Ferragamo Tramezza shoes. I find these are a good value at the $325 price. Much better styling than Allen Edmonds or anything else in this price range.

I purchased these in brown a few month ago and liked them so much I decided to add the black to my collection. Comfortable after a short break-in period. Lots of compliments. Magnanni is a nice line, well made and not over the top in pricing.
