Madison Waxed Cotton Jacket

If I could afford this jacket in every color, I would buy the black and red as well but I've selected Navy and am very pleased. This jacket will last a lifetime. For anyone living in multi-season locations, this jacket is the perfect layering item. The waxed cotton will help repel a bit of wet weather and it is oversized to accommodate layer a thin insulation layer or a thick sweater. Surprisingly it isn't stiff like a lot of other waxed jackets. Love all the pockets and the black corduroy on the sleeves and collar are a nice, soft touch around your face and hands. Very thoughtful design with high-quality closures. It is also lined! The Navy is more like a midnight navy. I've read some comments about the marks on the jacket but I don't mind them. Seems natural for waxed cotton and gives it character. I did order my regular size (S) and it is big on me (sleeves and width) but I don't mind the oversize. If you want a less loose look, size down. My guess is there will still be room to layer. It's so well-made.

Love this jacket. The quality is superb and I really like the distressed red finish. However, the fit is off for me. I tried in S and M. The Medium is big enough for two people. The Small was a better fit, but still quite large around the torso, and the sleeves were much too short for me. I also thought the sleeves were a bit short in the Medium. I’d like to keep one — but regretfully am returning both sizes. If you have a long wingspan, this jacket might not work for you. Definitely size down!
