Zip Top Transport Leather Carryall

I purchased the Zip Top transport leather carryall in contrasting leather (black bag, tan straps). I purchased the prior version about 2 years ago, and still love it, but I wanted to buy the updated version because the straps on mine have developed a patina that is so dark that it looks dirty. I love that the new design has the zipper recessed within the tote, which gives it a little more detail and looks better than an exposed zipper. I also like that the bag is slightly more structured and stands on its own. My complaint is that the new bag's shoulder strap lacks the comfort sleeve, so if your bag contents weigh anything, it digs painfully into the shoulder. I decided to return mine, because of the strap, but also because I know that the tan handles will turn a dark brown/gray within a year, despite my best efforts at preserving them, and I think the all-black version is the better option.

This is a lovely bag, very simple and minimalistic. Plenty of space to carry your lunch and/or laptop to work without looking like you're carrying a duffel bag. Easily big enough to use as an overnight bag, but not too big or heavy for your daily carry. Goes with just about any outfit and looks nice without stealing the show. Leather and zipper are of good quality. I spilled coffee inside the week after receiving this bag and it was easy enough to turn inside out to clean and dry. As this bag doesn't have any extra frills on the outside it's super easy to wipe down to keep clean. Beyond all of this, I get tons of compliments on it.

I got the medium transport tote for Christmas and it is absolutely gorgeous. Thick and super smooth beautiful leather however I was considering returning it for the carryall so it can fit my laptop but this bag looks cheap and the leather was already wrinkling just from being in the box as if it had been used before. It is definitely not a sturdy or structured bag either and is quite slouchy. This bag is definitely not worth the price tag and the leather has a very bumpy texture that makes it look much cheaper than it is.

I travel for work regularly and have experienced the full purse spill on takeoff and landing far too frequently. Finally got smart and started shopping for zippered totes only. On my flight home last week, not only did my purse tip over and retain all of its contents, but my wedding ring had slipped off inside it while I was digging around earlier and it too was spared! $188 but already saved me thousands!
