If you’ve been wanting barrel jeans but are scared to take the plunge, these are the perfect pair for you. They aren’t clowny. I love the FP barrel as controversial as they may be, these are a toned down version, I’m really happy they aren’t cropped. They feel lived in already. They are not high rise which I’m shocked I like. I can be a 28 or a 29, ordered the 28 & the waist is loose, but I love the fit everywhere else- they aren’t hanging off me bc they fit so well everywhere else. Get em’!!!!

Painful to sit down in
I bought these pants in the store, and they fit great. I brought them home and washed them. Now, whenever I sit down, they are too tight in the crotch and cause so much pain I need to take them off. I’m very disappointed.

Great looking jeans but with a Button Fly
I read this description carefully. It said "Zip fly with button closure" I assumed it had a zipper and sadly NOT. I ordered the blue and this grey/black Olenda Wash. To make it worse. The buttons do not come free easily. I don't want to mess with a button fly when I take these on /off so I'm sending them back. Hopefully Madewell will make this jean with a zip fly.

inseam 26 in.
These would be cute, but the inseam listed in the description is incorrect. I measured the pair I received, and the inseam is about 26 inches, not 29.5 as listed in the description. I am between 5’10” and 5’11” tall, these pants are absolutely not the right length for me.
I will be returning them, unfortunately.

Order TWO SIZES DOWN and you'll be golden
I've tried like four different brands of barrel jeans and they all make me look enormous. The dart on these jeans gave them literally the perfect shape. I think they might be my favorite pair of jeans I've ever worn, honestly. Slimming, interesting looking, roomy, comfy...they have it all.
I am a 29 in Madewell jeans, but the reviews said to size down so I ordered in a 27 and 28. The 28 was GIANT on me. The 27 fit perfectly. So order two sizes down.
It is a button-fly. I didn't have the complaints other people had about the buttons, though the bottom one was a bit tricky. I'm just going ot leave that one buttoned as it's not a problem getting the pants on and off with it done up.
I'm going to go buy these in every color now.
