Paperbag Waist Shorts

I really wanted these to be cute on me and act as a dupe for a pricier French brand’s summer 2020 shorts but they just aren’t. The fabric is pretty thin and the length of the zipper in the front creates more of a tummy pouch if you have one or the illusion of one if you don’t. I bought these in a size 0. I am relatively thin but curvy and I felt that the pager bag really did just make me look like a bag, a sack of potatoes, etc. Did not emphasize my waist at all, made me look very short waisted. I am going to try to figure how I can style these, if at all, but these might just be made for a small busted body type.

These are lovely and TTS. I'm generally a size 6, heavier on the bottom (5'3"), 135#, size S on top, 28" waist, 38" hips. These are GREAT. Super flattering if you have curves and a smaller waist - none of that annoying gaping at the waist that so many other shorts do. The material is a nice brushed cotton-linen, though a little on the thin side, and while I think it will wrinkle easily, I'm fine with that because of the pleating. Note: if you don't already have curves, I'm not sure how the pleats will work for you. They might add a bulk where you don't want it. Color is exactly as it appears.
