Madeline Bone China 16-Piece Dinnerware Set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a big fan of white dinnerware because it allows the food and place settings to shine, and it never goes out of style. But the Stone Lain Madeline Bone China set isn't just practical, it is also quite beautiful. It has a nice and bright white color, and the finish is very shiny and smooth. The shape and edges of the dishes give it an appealing look that is modern yet timeless. I think it looks even nicer in person than pictures. This set seems to be great quality too. It is lightweight but feels sturdy. When I held a plate up to a fairly dim light, I could easily see the shadow of my fingers through it. So, it appears to pass the test for authentic bone china and is pretty transluscent. I noticed a tiny bubble in the glaze on one of the plates and a bit of roughness on the bottom of another plate, but otherwise this set is nearly flawless. These are things that the majority of people would never notice, and they are not in very noticeable areas. I'm really happy that this set is dishwasher and microwave safe, so they are perfect for for everyday as well as special occasions. One minor issue to note is that these dishes don't stack as neatly because of their straight shape, but I don't think that would be a dealbreaker unless you are planning to display them on open shelves.

The lip around the edge makes them look modern but the all white, circular shape also gives them a classic look. No matter which way I decorate my kitchen and dining room these will always world with it. They wash up great too!

I like the fact that the dishes are safe in the dishwasher and microwave. Overall I'm very satisfied with this set and I highly recommend it to everybody.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love our Stone Lain Madeline bone china set. There are just so many great aspects to it. The most obvious is the simplicity in design but formal look. It has both a modern and classic look to it, that that allows us to use it as our everyday china and when we have guests, use it as formal place settings. By just pairing it up with different placemats and cutlery, it changes the overall look of the occasion. The white bone china finish is flawless with a high gloss glaze. The bottoms of the plates are glazed and smooth, so they do not scratch the finish on our table. The actual glaze is as tough as nails, I have not seen a scratch on the finish from cutting on the plates with a sharp knife. All of the pieces of the set have substantial thickness to them without being or looking bulky. Of course, it’s nice that they are durable enough for the dishwasher and the quality of the china allows them to be microwave safe. One of the deign feature I like is that the dinner and salad plates have a sharp distinctive lip which keeps food and sauces from running off the edge of the plates. The bowels and cups are well designed to allow them to be used individually with other setting or just by themselves. I like the cup design because it does not need a saucer and I now use the cup as my coffee cup throughout the day. This set of china has not only met our expectations, but most definitely exceeded them in every aspect. Stone Lain has designed and produced a great set of dinnerware they we will use every day and when entertaining for years to come.

The plates are flat with a lip that makes for unique presentation of food - the lip helps hold everything together while the lack of traditional contour makes the plate act as a canvas for your artistic touches - the result is a beautiful, unobstructed presentation of your food. These plates are microwaveable and highly durable (so no marking or etching from silverware contact). The bowls are great for soup and salad, but they are truly great popcorn bowls too! I even love the modern styling to the mugs. This is an extremely high quality, yet affordable, set that I will expand with more pieces from the collection. These plates are a home run!

I got a 4 place setting and knew right away that I needed to add to the set with another 8 place setting. These dishes are so chic I am planning to use them with my Christmas table setting next Dec. Along with the right napkins and tablecloth, wow my table will be very stylish. I love that I can use the dishes as an everyday setting or for holidays. The rims on the side of the dishes are very dressy and keeps wetter foods in place without leaking. The soup bowls hold a full can of soup with plenty of room left. These dishes work very well in the microwave. Another feature of the design that I appreciate is the grip of the coffee cup. These dishes provide me with everything that I look for in a tableware set.
