'Edward' Down Parka with Genuine Coyote and Rabbit Fur Trim

I was in the market for a new winter coat and knew I wanted a Parka - after looking at the Mackage Edward and a few Canada Goose styles at my local Norstrom's I decided the Mackage was by far the better coat. Not only was it more stylish overall with the leather trim and other accents but the quality and detailing seemed better to me - the CG styles are fine - but they appear more basic in their styling and I wanted something more stylish. The Mackage Edward seemed to have more down filling - from the moment you slip your arm in the sleeve you feel the difference. They heavy duty zippers are great - and the main zipper is a two-way zipper so you can unzip from the bottom when you are sitting down or getting in your car. The inside pockets are all fleece lined to make your hands feel very warm when you don't have gloves. The zip out bib/hood is great for those times you don't want the fur hood attached. This coat was more expensive than I would normally spend on a coat but feel it is an investment for many years to come.

This was bought for my boyfriend. It’s gorgeous and I think the pictures online don’t do any justice. If I were stuck in the Himalayas stranded with no hopes in sight, this is the coat I would want to have. Stranded with a handsome stranger I wanted to impress with my chic and classy wardrobe as we waited for our rescue helicopter.

This parka was an instant hit for me. Last winter, I saw this item at a Nordstrom location in North Jersey. After suffering through a couple of rough winters, I realized I needed to invest in a heavier coat. After trying it on, I was thrilled to find that it was stylish, classy, AND functional. The brand competes with Canada Goose and Moncler, but Nordstrom is wise to carry Mackage as its most luxurious outerwear brand. Its warmth rivals those two brands, or perhaps surpasses theirs. Moncler and Canada Goose coats tend to look either too casual or too trendy. In the past, I struggled to find a coat that complements by business attire (I work in finance in Manhattan). Mackage creates coats that can be either dressed up or dressed down. The quality of the fur is superior to that of Canada Goose and Moncler coats as is the general structure of the coat. As pictured, there is an inner enclosure underneath the outermost layer of the coat for extreme warmth. True to Nordstrom fashion, they had a wonderful sale in the late summer. I bought this parka for a steal -- 40% off the original ticket price. I am as happy as a customer can be and to have shopped this look with Nordstrom. (Note: I am a broader guy, so this jacket could err on the narrower side for those with my build).
