Details & care
What it is: A professional-quality, refined loose powder that can be used on either the face or body that helps set your makeup and delivers a matte finish. Instantly absorbs oil and provides a photo-friendly matte finish with a 3D blurring effect.
Who it's for: All skin types.
What it does: Infused with nourishing ingredients, it wears comfortably without feeling dry on your skin. The powder offers sheer coverage, helps control oil and sets your makeup without disturbing color. Silky soft texture with a matte finish beautifully stabilizes whatever makeup it is used to set and finish and blurs and smooths the look of blemishes. Its Dual Light-Bending Technology uses high-refractive index powders to refract light along with lecithin-coated powders to reflect light on skin for a 3D, blurring effect and is sweat- and humidity-resistant. Best suited for emollient-based products and does not settle, crease or cake.
How to use: For a light dusting, apply powder all over your face using a powder brush. For a more velvety-smooth finish, use a powder puff to apply all over your face.

Just like the previous review, I didn't know how to get the darn powder from beneath the mesh! I honestly didn't want to give up on it. Glad I didn't bc it's a nice fine powder to set concealer. I used to use MAC set powder but it was too white. But with this, I can choose a color lighter to highlight. I simply place a sponge over the mesh, lift and shake. You get a nice amount on the sponge, apply and it's not messy! Now I love that darn mesh.

I don't like it
It's says highly pigmented but I honestly can see any difference when I apply it over my foundation also takes to long to get it out . iv just read a few other reviews and they look to be having the same problem it's the only thing iv ever bought from Mac and been disappointed and I normally buy something at least once a month as it's my favourite make up brand wouldn't recommend it

Bad packaging
I don't understand this powder. It is in a pot with a mesh top so I guess you are supposed to press a powder puff on it to apply? You can't really get much on a brush through the mesh and worse than that you can't tap any in the lid because it isn't a flat surface. Hard to describe but it has a big knob in the middle of the lid. It's just too hard to use for me, I like to swirl a brush in loose powder and this makes it impossible. I'm returning it only for the package. The actual powder seems fine,

Amazing!
I originally bought this when I was trying to find a very lightweight powder for setting concealer/highlighter under my eyes, but after going a year without wearing makeup because I didn’t leave the house, I decided to try to develop a new quick (under 20mins) “light” makeup routine, and ended up changing from the StudioFix Foundation Powder to this Perfecting Powder as my go to foundation. After at least 20 years, my facial skin decided it didn’t like the StudioFix Foundation Powder anymore. I ended up using a different hydrating setting powder directly over the concealer under my eyes, but will dust over the areas again with this perfecting powder because it seems to prevent products from settling into the fine lines, and it looks flawless yet natural. Here is my new routine, reduced to <30mins from an hour. I won’t detail how I do my eyes base, except that after using a hydrating setting powder, I do give the under eyes and lids a light dusting using a fluffy eyeshadow blending brush. I don’t use primers, and only apply a serum and moisturizer 20-30mins before starting a makeup routine. After applying a combination of StudioFix cream and mineral NW20/NW30 concealers to add some contour/highlights, I dust over my face with the StudioFix Perfecting powder using a tighter fluffy brush. It’s amazing how easily it evens out my “problem” areas, like mild rosacea on cheeks and a few lighter sun spots on jawline, that I don’t like to cake over with concealer. Depending on how my skin is behaving, I might need a 2nd light dusting over a problem area. I let it “set up” while I do the rest of my eye makeup, then use Margin colored blush over areas I use contouring concealer, because it’s both a bronzer/blush for my skin-tone. Then a light dusting of one of the pinkish/gold mineral bronzers on upper cheekbones, apples, bridge of nose, etc. This Perfecting powder sets up very nicely, and looks great for many hours. Not sure about a maximum but first time I wore it out dancing, I checked it every hour for 6 hours, blotted the sweat off my forehead temples and only once I lightly patted over those spots with StudioFix pressed powder, just like using the foundation powder. I have even slept in it and just patted the slightly oily spots on forehead/nose with tissue, then lightly touch up with this under eyes and where I blotted, wore it another day, and didn’t break out! Warning, the website pictures of the shades are very off! I wear NW25 StudioFix Powder Foundation (range NW20-30 between StudioFix products), and originally got this in Medium Plus, due to bad site photos, reading reviews, and even calling a store (obviously getting bad advice) and whoaaaaaa, wayyy too dark. I went to my favorite Nordy MAC counter and exchanged for Light. I think when I get enough sun where I would normally change to NW30 StudioFix foundation powder, then Medium might be fine. Another color reference is when I absolutely need to wear a liquid foundation, I wear Estée Lauder Double Wear, in Almond (Persian olive complexion), so this might help you decide what color you need. I look much younger than I am because I have always taken great care of my skin, but it’s become more of a struggle lately, and technically I do have aging dry skin, with mild rosacea on cheeks and a few small fine lines around upper lip and under my eyes. I should definitely mention that this powder is the only thing that doesn’t settle into any of the lines and makes them disappear! I also don’t have any issues with lip liner/gloss/stick bleed/feathering which I have been trying to find a solution forever. I think it’s because it fills in the tiniest of lines (blurs), which is different from settling into the lines, if that’s the best way to describe it? Try it, if you don’t like it, you can exchange it!

This powder is amazing. It's silky and sheer, perfect for setting your foundation. The best way to use it is to bounce your powder brush on the mesh opening.

Perfect! Great for setting, coverage and color!
Not sure why people are knocking this for the packaging because you simply push the brush on the top of the opening and the loose powder comes to the top! I actually prefer this over the loose powder being open at the top because this way allows even proportions onto your brush! Love this setting powder!
