What it is: MAC Matchmaster Foundation SPF 15 uses customizable pigments that adjust to your skin tone and provide a demi-matte finish.

What it does: This oil-controlling foundation uses proprietary Shade Intelligence Technology to deliver a flawless look plus perfect color purity that won't look ashy or chalky. MAC Matchmaster Foundation SPF 15 reduces shine on the skin's surface and helps to absorb excess oil. It's long-wearing for up to eight hours and also refines skin while minimizing the appearance of pores and imperfections. It provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15 PA++ protection.
How to use: Apply to your face using a sponge or foundation brush. Blend.

Mattifying but not drying
I was looking for a medium coverage foundation with SPF and the Mac Associate recommended this.
FINISH: It goes on matte - looking powdery without the itchy dry feel of powder. And it stayed semi-matte all day (applied at 6am). I never had to blot or powder during the day; but I could have used a touch up around 5pm for a matte evening look. Even though I have combination skin (oily t-zone, dry cheeks), I never felt tight as with other "mattifying" foundations. And I never got the oil slick look as I did with MAC's Mineralize Foundation. If you have evenly slightly oily skin, go with Matchmaster, not Mineralize.
COVERAGE: I am happy to report that this covers my large pores, acne scars and sun spots, without giving me the overly made-up look. And I can skip the concealer.
VALUE: A little goes a long way...used with a MAC 130 brush, you only need 2 pumps to cover your whole face. I pump into a small dish, dab with the MAC 130 brush, and dab into my face, then spread or brush down and outward. Follow with a dusting of Mineralized Natural Finish powder and I am set to go all day. Follow with Fix Spray if you want a "dewy-er" look.
COLOR MATCH: My normal MAC color is NC30, so in Matchmaster I am a 3.0. But I would recommend going to the counter to get a good match. The associate said I could use 4.0 if I tan easily.
NC vs NW: The associate also taught me about the difference between NC and NW. NC is for cool undertones #yellow, golden skinned Asians like me#, while NW is for warm undertones #fair blondes generally fall into this category#. So for me, I get an NC foundation but my concealer would be an NW color, a shade or two lighter than my foundation shade. The NW is to warm up the redness I am trying to hide....Learn something new everyday :)

Too Dark....
Even the lightest shade it way too dark. Come to think of it all Mac foundation lines need a new shades for us porcelain girls !

Think I'm in love!!!
I was never a fan of MAC foundations. I only stuck to their lipsticks. I decided to branch out and tried their matchmaster foundation.
I am head over heals in love with this product. I love the way how it adjusts to your natural undertone.This is the only MAC foundation that has not broken me out. I use it everyday for all occasions.
It's dries semi-matte so it's perfect for combination oily - oily skin types.
It is medium coverage but buildable. I just use their studio finish concealer on my dark spots and wear it medium coverage.
There is no need to use a finishing powder with this product but if I do I use MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural or MAC Prep+Prime Translucent Pressed Powder
Although it has in SPF it photographs beautifully without the flashback.
I find it applies best when I put dabs of it all over my face, then spray with FIX+ and blend it in with a wet beauty blender sponge. The finish is flawless and natural. So many people ask me what foundation I use. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Best foundation from M.A.C. to date!
I've used M.A.C. for years and I think this is their best foundation ever! It's so easy to find your perfect match. I'm African American so it's always difficult finding a foundation to match my skin tone. I don't have that problem with Matchmaster.

Great!
I have a drawer full of high end foundations which I like; however this is fantastic.
The best skin match I have ever had.
I use it along with the MAC Pro Longwear Cpncealer and my skin looks flawless and I am 69 yrs. old.
Very very pleased.

Fantastic foundation!
I was a Pro Longwear addict for a long time but I decided to try something new. The color just wasn't doing it for me anymore now that summer is over and NW15 was the lightest that line has. The rep at the MAC counter recommended Matchmaster and I'm so glad she did. It's not as long wearing as the PLW, but it's close. The best part is that is not as cakey, so I'll take that over an extra hour or two of wear time anyway. I was matched to 1.0 in Matchmaster and it's literally a perfect match.
I use two pumps and blend lightly with my fingers, then go over my whole face with the beauty blender and my skin looks flawless. Seriously, this stuff is magical! Definitely give it a shot if you're looking for something new to try. I like it 1000 times better than NARS Sheer Matte.

Flawless Skin
I was disappointed when MAC Select Foundation was discontinued. It was introduced to me by my wedding makeup artist in the 90s. When I tried to look for the same foundation, the MAC makeup artist suggested Matchmaster (color, 5.0) and I couldn't be happier, I've finally found the right foundation! I use it every morning, workout at lunch, and go back to work without touching up (I don't use powder) and my skin looks dewy and flawless. I hope MAC won't discontinue this foundation. It is the perfect one for my brown skin.
