Lungo Recycled Longline Water Resistant Feather & Down Fill Puffer Coat

This high quality, nicely designed coat is meant to keep the wearer warm and dry in the cold and snow with it’s many features, except one missing: The adjustable hood. It fits true to size, with an adjustable, A-line shape and slightly high-low tapered hem. The coverage is very good for the cold, yet the coat still provides room to move in and out of a vehicle or other seat with ease. It fit my tall frame in front at the knees, with a tapered hem that hits the top of the calf in back. This wearer did not find the sleeves to be unusually narrow for more slender arms. They are long enough, too, for arms like mine that do need to be able to move and reach without tugging. The fit plus the knit cuffs with thumbholes do much to keep cold winds out. The hood seemed cut slightly short for my height, as the hood and collar insulation do take up some space around the neck, too, and I needed a little more room vertically. Without a drawcord, contrary to the description, there’s no way to adjust the fit and prevent the hood from blowing off in a wind-gust. There is ample room in the torso and seat for layers, if you still need them while wearing this substantial coat in the sub-zero wind chills that are regularly present in cold-weather climates. A cinch-cord within the coat allows for the fit to be adjusted at the waist, further blocking cold air, and wind gusts from traveling upward. A zipped interior pocket is handy for concealing valuables. The reinforced slash pockets provide coverage up to the wrists, generously. Conveniences, such as stretchy webbed-nylon carrying straps in the interior back and sealed zippered side vents will help the wearer catch air while moving around, shopping indoors, or other times when the temperature rises. The fully sealed zippers ensure the wearer remains warm while they’re closed. The fabric feels and is water, wind and cold resistant with a slight degree of four-way stretch. There is an attractive, shiny polyester lining within to ease getting in and out of the coat. Due to the bulk and somewhat rigidity of the coat being new, the lack of vertical length (maybe 1/2”) and the hood design lacking any kind of drawcord, a winter-like gust of wind and movement while wearing the coat is likely to cause the hood to come off.

Great coat for really cold climates. Quality is top notch. It’s true to size. There were just a few things that unfortunately caused me to ultimately return this jacket. Hood is too small would not stay over my head with a beanie underneath and there are no cinch cords for the hood to even try to keep it more snug, pockets have no zippers and the coat is rather heavy. I bought the Aritzia super puff long instead which has all the features I wish this coat had and it’s much more lightweight while still being extremely warm.
