Roll Top Maxi Skirt

I love this skirt! It is a true maxi, fits softly around the waist and hangs beautifully. It fits nicely around the hips and is swishy when you walk without being too full. For those of us who love animal prints but can't always wear the more yellow or orange hues that many are created in, this one is great. It has a cool-toned, taupe background with black and grey in the animal print. So far, I have paired it with a casual, cotton charcoal grey tank top and sandals and, on another occasion, with a dressier black top and higher heels. I see all kinds of possibilities with this skirt, going well into autumn when it can be worn with knitwear and boots. I had a hard time not wearing it three days in a row!

I was looking for a flattering, comfortable maxi skirt for everyday life. This skirt fits this need superbly. I am 5' 3" tall, usually wear a size 4 in skirts. At my height, this skirt is a true maxi as it goes to the ankle when I wear it with the top panel folded down at the seam. With the material at the top of the skirt, this skirt can be a maxi for a much taller person than I. This skirt floats when one walks which adds a feminine flair to the skirt. The material is not see-through; when it's extremely sunny outside, I sometimes wear a slip under it just to be sure that it's not at all see-through. The material is very comfortable. Bottom line: this skirt is pretty, a little bit 'boho,' and practical. I loved this skirt so much that after I wore this skirt, I bought it in several other patterns offered by Nordstrom.

Normally, I would keep this skirt but I ordered 5 with the intent of keeping 3 and this did not make the cut, although I was tempted. The print of the fabric is cute, it hung fine and fit well but I thought another animal print skirt in a satin-like fabric as well as a plain gray jersey-knit skirt were more flattering on my hour glass figure. I’m 5’6, size 6 and the small fit me.

I'm usually not a skirt person, but bored with my closet and this caught my eye. So glad I ordered it....cute, flattering, and very comfortable! I was torn between the XS and S and based on reviews, ordered the XS, which fits well, but no extra room. I'm 5'3", 115, size 26 jeans, fyi. The small probably would have worked, too, but keeping the XS.
