Aliz Waterproof Trench Coat

This trench is perfect in sooo many ways; beautiful color, perfect length, elegant cut, and the nicest material. The only flaw is the Velcro closures! Very bizarre choice for an otherwise elegant and luxuriously cut trench. Rather than buttons or even snaps, the coat has a string of tiny, cheap feeling, Velcro closures. It’s awkward to use them and I can only imagine how much dust, lint, and hair will get caught inside each stuck on circle.

I have been searching for a nice rain coat. I found it. This one can be casual or dressy. Fits nice. I live in Wisconsin so I wanted a rain coat for all 4 seasons. Black is always classy so color was important to me. I am able to wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath with some room left. I ordered a medium. I probably could have done a small, but the medium was fine. I call it my fancy rain coat. Nordstrom never disappoints me. I always find what I need.

I really am torn on this jacket. I love the material, the fit and it looks so lovely on; it really elevates a look. I just cant get over the hood, which is why I bought it. I needed something to wear to all my kids' sports activities here in the PNW. The hood is sooo large and completely covers my eyes no matter how I adjust it. I will be returning this despite it being so lovely because it is just simply not functional for me.

I love the length, perfect. The style is lovely. I love the open back vent to cool things down. I LOVE how light this jacket is, with a great hood, that cinches down with a cord. The only thought is sometimes I feel it is nothing more than a cheapish polyurethane rain coat, dressed up, and should not be this expensive. It's hard to explain. I don't think it runs large or small, but in fact you might want to size up if you plan on wearing it over a very puffy down jacket in winter to add wind blocking, and make the down coat truly rain proof. If not, then under a sweater, your regular size.
