Lip Chic Lip Color

OMG!!! This lipstick should come with a warning, very addictive! Not only does it look amazing, but it feels so good that sometimes I put it on instead of lip balms that I have for winter chapped lips, and I think it works better. One thing I will say is, pay almost no attention to the color chart, it is not at all accurate, however I have ordered so many of these and have not found a color yet that was not gorgeous and I love them all!

This is one of the best formulas out there. I have amassed quite the collection of makeup, and the latest addition of Chantecaille's Lip Chics has been the crowning glory. Sadly, I only own two shades, Sunrise and Dahlia, but not due to lack of wanting to add to my stash. The texture is rich and soft and the product itself has good staying power: 4-6 hours if not eating and drinking. The formula nourishes my lips and offers a slight hint of shimmer and vibrancy. Sunrise is the perfect warm-toned pink/coral for summer. It immediately enlivens any makeup look without the risk of looking clownish or cartoonish. Dahlia is a rich reddish-pink. It is several shades darker than my natural lip colour, but can be toned down with a lighter hand or with blotting. It is the perfect hue for a slightly 'dressier' lip. There's no heavy scent. The formula is paraben-free. Despite having chapped lips at times, this lip product applies like a dream. I want more of them! $35 is a hefty price point, but it's well worth the investment.

This is my second "Geranium" as I love the color, particularly in summer when soft coral is so in tune with the season. A well named color! I am a lip chic addict, own several, and almost never use any other lipstick. Lip Chics are somewhere between a lipstick and a gloss, but with more intense color than one would expect, and yet with such gorgeous color tones there is no jarring brightness. They are so smooth and moisturizing you can put them on without looking, yet they have just the right intensity of color. My lips are never dry and there is no flaking, or clumping. They are worth every penny. I have turned every woman in the family on to them.

This lipstick used to be a staple - Tea Rose was one of the prettiest shades I owned, and I got compliments whenever I wore it. Then Chantecaille changed the color, for whatever dumb reason. It’s noting like the original shade. It’s not pretty. It goes with nothing. It’s depressing. I literally used a Q-tip to dig out and apply the very last of my Tea Rose original. Felt like the end of an era when it was finally gone, because I’ll never buy this new shade, or anything else by Chantecaille — I can’t deal with companies that do this to customers.

REad about these and tried a few. Camelia was too light on me (med. skin color, future skin nude) as was Geranium. But both were quite beautiful. I told my daugher about these two colors for her wedding day this August. Bought Zinnia and Dahlia, which are beautiful as well as Ceylon and Heirloom for Fall. Tea Rose also pretty but maybe a tad too pink for my coloring. These colors are all neutral.They appear darker in the case than they are. Very moisturizing without being sticky. Lasts along time. No overwhelming colors. Well worth the money and much cheaper in comparison to Cle de Peau's silky lipsticks, which were splurges for me.

I so wanted to love this lipstick and the color I bought (Dahlia) was beautiful and the light scent was nice even though I normally don't do well with scents--but despite the fact that this feels creamy and moisturizing when it's applied--it actually dried out my lips and the color did not last at all. It stayed on for less than 90 minutes even without eating or drinking. The quest for a lipstick that really will stay and not be overly dehydrating continues.
