Linen Blend Ruched Midi Dress

Pretty dress but it runs a little big and it’s meant for someone taller than 5’4”

The photo does not do this dress justice. It is very, very chic, and extremely flattering. I purchased the green gray color in the xl, as the L, my usual size was a tad too form fitting. I plan to purchase it in the ivory as well. Perfect for a wedding, cocktail party or even a baby shower!!!

The Linen Blend Ruched Midi Dress ticked a lot of boxes on the elevated summer dress list. It's cap sleeves provide modesty for shoulders and arms and prevents "pee-a-boo here's my bra" moments. The neckline is unique and incredibly flattering. The shallow V shows just enough to be a little daytime sexy but you can still wear a regular bra. It shows a flattering part of the neck. Also, v-is shallow enough so you can wear both chunky short necklaces and architectural long necklaces. The torso doesn't have any seams. The ruching in the mid-section is just enough to provide interest without overwhelm. I could see it flattering a range of body types and would still look good after dessert or dancing. The length is perfect for day to evening (especially in the black) and allows for a range of shoe options. On me, it doesn't feel quite like a midi, just comfortably below the knee. The opening in the back is a deeper v-, which is nice and makes zipping the dress up easier (you don't have to go all the way to the neck). The dress is machine washable, so it can be a decent travel dress. There are a few design choices that make this a four vs five stars: The only available color at the time of my purchase was the Green Chaparral. On me it is just an okay color. It's unique, but just doesn't really have a point of view of its own. I had an event and it was neutral enough to work. It has a lot of gray in it. I am sure it could serve as a neutral base for more colorful accessories. As this was not really a design issue, I did not deduct any points. The dress did loose points for several reasons. 1) It doesn't have pockets. I get there is a sleekness to pocketless dresses, but designers also omit hidden side pockets to save money. It's summer. I want to my your phone someplace for a moment when at event when you needs your hands free. 2) The dress was so wrinkled after washing and hang drying. I get that linen requires some some ironing, bth the ruching takes tae. longer. This is not a grab-it-out-of-the-closet-and-go summer dress. 4) The fabric blend of linen and viscose drapes nicely and provides structure, but it is not a completely breathable dress Overall, it is a solid summer dress for specific events.

I was blown away at this dress. The fabric is high quality and the fit through the middle is very slimming. The only complaint is because it's a linen blend it has no stretch. The skirt is more form fitting than the image suggests, which I like better anyway. Will be purchasing it in more colors.

This dress is well-made and has flattering and forgiving lines. I quite like it!
