UPF 50+ Mixed Doubles Floral Tennis Dress

The dress is very cute and flattering and has a built-in bra. However, what surprised me is that the dress didn’t come with matching shorts. It is way too short to not wear shorts underneath. I bought a pair of shorts from another retailer to try with the dress. If it works, I’ll keep it. But if the shorts don’t work out with the dress, I’m afraid I will be returning the dress. Lilly, please add matching removable and/or built-in shorts to your athletic dresses!

I haven't been wearing much Lilly since I started working from home a couple years ago. I have gathered quite a collection of athletic dresses from several stores and I really like Lilly's version. My favorite parts are the built in bra/ removeable cups and that the shorts aren't attached. I bought this to wear to Disney this summer and I love that I don't have to remove the entire dress to go to the bathroom (detached shorts are the best thing ever). However, I'm deducting a star for the quality of the fabric. I don't love the fabric of the dress and the quality of the undershorts isn't great. The shorts are too thin and offer no compression. I will say that this dress is a bit short. While the intent is probably for tennis, I plan to just wear it to run errands. I'm only 5'2", so it's not an issue for me, but if I was much taller, it would feel very short. I used to wear a lot of my Lilly to work, but this dress is too short for me to consider work appropriate.

I have been searching high and low for a good athletic dress with built-in shorts and shelf bra ( to have a sort of body suit underneath… less to adjust all the time). I bypassed Athleta, loft, and some other name brands when I found this dress ( I was thrilled that it didn’t have a collar like the other Lilly tennis dresses), and I was willing to pay the increased price for such a cute dress. I run small to medium in my upper body and medium to large in my lower body. I purchased a medium and I feel it runs a little big… especially in the bust area ( I wear a 34 D cup and it felt a tad loose). Not complaining about it fitting comfortably. I HATE that the shorts are detached. Please include this word in the description so that people know for sure. I also have an athletic skort that I purchased last year…the built in undershorts of that skort are just like the undershorts that come with this dress….. material is super thin….. unforgiving of flaws, and because the material is so thin and the hemming of the legs are not stretchy like the rest of the short, they make for an unflattering, bulgey look, especially those of us with thicker legs. Please make the short more like a “compression” legging material (and an inch or so longer so they don’t ride up) and please create a dress with an under suit.
